Oh no, Diversity in media?! GASP, whatever shall white men do now that they don't make up 100% of all fictional characters?

Man, that's so sad that not all media content is directly catered to a very specific and entitled subset of society.

Someone did an analysis of games on steam, and like 7% of them had either a female protagonist or tagged as LGBT friendly. It's all in their heads how prevalent it is.

And they even like woke games. Baulders Gate 3 by and large is a huge success and thats one of the wokest games released in recent memory.

Black Myth Wukong would meet our western criteria of DEI. A game based on Chinese folklore with no white men present? That is absolutely diversity in gaming and it still got high accolades.

What they hate is when characters are gay just to have a gay character in the cast that remind you they are gay in each dialog option, but that doesn't happen very often and a story that has to do that is already lackluster and will stick out more. The new Dragon Age comes to mind with its odd dialogue, which still has positive reviews on steam but doesn't seem to have sold the number of copies they are used to.

The announcement for Intergalactic: The heretic has a really cool aesthetic, but it had a ton of product placement. A Porsche branded ship with a Sony sound system. You can already predict the story will be lukewarm because their story will be nitpicked by the advertisement agents to make sure their brand is "safe". So because it featured a female protagonist, people will blame the game flopping on that, but it will be for other reasons.

Are anti woke gamers just permanently humiliated now after the overwhelming success of Baldur’s gate 3?

I think it depends how the material is presented. Homosexual and transgender people exist; get over it. Conversely people do play games to be immersed in a story, and if the story is put on pause for a PSA on transgenderism it can be a groaner. I read that mastectomy scars are an option and that goes further than transgenderism. A lot of cis women unfortunately have to have the surgery for life-threatening issues and even if it's not part of the story I'm sure the acknowledgement means a lot to those people. The game has a solid 71% positivity rating on Steam so the people annoyed by this are probably the same 30-33% that think using "cis' is hate speech.
