Disconnected 2023 is an American computer animated comedy movie produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures. It features the voices of Ryan Reynolds, Nicholas Cage, Jeffery Tambor, Chris Pratt, Danny Devito and Burt Young in his last role.

This flim centers on four men who die during an explosive decompression of a commercial submersible viewing the Titanic. Their souls join those on the Titanic as they learn to adapt to an afterlife with spirts from another century.

Wonder who would do the voice of the CEO who was piloting the sub?

[-] creditCrazy@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago

That's cursed

[-] victron@programming.dev 13 points 1 year ago

Jfc, I laughed way too much at this.

Could be an actual good movie. 4 souls added to an afterlife where those already there have been established and weren't expecting anyone else to join

[-] HerbalGamer@lemm.ee 17 points 1 year ago

So Johnny Sins is just there for fun?

[-] Tarkcanis@lemmy.world 30 points 1 year ago

"Johnny Sins is just there for fun?"

Always.

I’m glad Johnny Sins is breaking out into more dialog heavy roles.

[-] flambonkscious@sh.itjust.works 14 points 1 year ago

I saw that too! I suspect this will be a little wetter than he's used to

[-] N00b22@lemmy.ml 54 points 1 year ago

Should I make a community for Pixar AI generated movie posters?

[-] MashedTech@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using a URL instead of its name, which doesn't work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: !pixaraimemes@lemmy.ml

can we cast mike tyson as the submarine

[-] LazaroFilm@lemmy.world 20 points 1 year ago

The rock. The submarine’s should have The Rock’s face like Thomas Engine.

[-] doctorn@r.nf 26 points 1 year ago

He couldn't look up how to actually spell it cause of being discon(n)ected. 😅

I do not understand the joke. Could someone please explain?

[-] RudeOnTuesdays@lemmy.world 46 points 1 year ago

It's referencing the Oceangate sub implosion.

[-] DrMango@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago

Also Johnny Sins is headlining with Ryan Reynolds

[-] ThunderWhiskers@lemmy.world 21 points 1 year ago

I don't get it either. I understand that it's referencing the dipshit that died in his own submarine, but I don't understand the intent. If it's supposed to be funny it's not hitting for me.

[-] RudeOnTuesdays@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

That's probably because it's dark humor.

[-] SMT42@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I mean it's a shitpost, there's no deeper humor here. Just 'wouldn't it be funny if family-friendly Disney-owned Pixar made a comedy movie about something so edgy as real people being crushed to death"

[-] Xartle@lemmy.ml 11 points 1 year ago

It's the Titanic tourists that died a little while ago.

Oh the rich people that died because an asshole didn't take engineering safety guidelines seriously?

[-] psycho_driver@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

This post would have been in very bad taste had it not been about asshole billionaires dying a stupid and assuredly horrific death.

[-] drislands@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

To be fair, one of those victims was a teenager who was dragged along by his rich dad. That kid didn't deserve it.

[-] psycho_driver@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago

I don't think any of them deserved this. On the other hand, it doesn't keep me up at night, either.

[-] rurutheguru 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I think it's because they died mostly due to ignorance and seeming idiocy, instead of malicious intent, cruelty or something of the like. It's hard to have empathy for someone who took such a big risk for the enjoyment of the experience (like an extreme rollercoaster). Others who are more aware will immediately recognise the sheer danger of such an activity. They all accepted that risk. The fact that they could afford such an activity implies they were probably loaded.

Example headline:

7 millionare adrenaline junkies die in extreme skydiving activity.

-- Yeah it's unfortunate, but it won't keep me up at night either.

[-] drislands@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

The point I was making was that at least one of them wasn't an adrenaline junkie, i.e. the kid whose rich dad dragged him along for the ride. IIRC he hadn't wanted to go in the first place.

[-] Metatronz@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

If it imploded at depth, they literally wouldn't have time to feel it.
