Fuck Lego (the company). Their bricks are on the lower end of the quality spectrum, way too many stickers, shit and cheaped out designs and bricks and all that for 50 to 400% more cash. There is nothing that makes Lego any better than competitors, except the little "Lego" imprint. And, in fact, if you call identical bricks, that are simply not made/sold by Lego, "Lego", the will sue you (if you have any public influence). Also, they sabotage competitors by claiming IP on basic parts that are hard to realize differently, even though they did not invent the concept of clamping bricks at all.
I get the point of "Lego was good when I was a kid, I want to give my kid the same experience" - but instead of beautiful, complex and interesting 300€ Unimog they'll get an ugly-ass, very simple and cheaply made 400€ set with much less design and parts value.
If you are already boycotting stuff, try eg. BlueBrixx, Pantasy, CaDa, Cobi, Mould King and dozens of smaller ones. Some are produced in the EU, like Cobi (Poland).

As each of them more or less specializes in a category, that's hard to say. Pantasy focuses on general models, with very special parts to actually convey the license, funwhole makes very neat house models, some with lighting (not two small LEDs, but dozens of LEDs with intensity and color perfectly matching their purpose and scene, with hidden cable management through special bricks) and other models, cobi makes very accurate vehicle models (including ships etc.) (mostly in system bricks), CaDa makes good vehicles too, but more in technic bricks (including remote control and actual technic functions). Mould King is more of a jack-of-all-trades, but overall cheaper (in my experience). BlueBrixx is more complicated to describe, as they have multiple series, including reselling other manufacturers (eg. Mould King), but they also have their own sets, for which they buy existing bricks (mostly GoBricks).
So overall: It depends on the type of set, but especially for large (also expensive, but FUCKING large) sets, BlueBrixx is best. Eg. Burg Blaustein, 26k pieces, 940€, and the astronomer's series, 21.5k pieces, 240€ (the next set for +>5k pieces and probably +~200€ was already announced). But there are more manageable sets, like the V100/200 locomotives (~5.5k pieces, 200€ and ~8k pieces respectively). And of course, many smaller and neater sets.
Then look at neutral, unpaid/sponsored reviews and compare with competitors. Also, watch Held der Steine (German), specifically where he was sued (two times).

Was it super crowded? I heard that it is really popular but someone said it's quite big so crowds are not a problem?
You can expect to wait an hour for a coaster on full days... But it helps to go early in the morning. And ride less popular coasters. Also in the evening, I remember riding silver star with 10 minutes queue time.
Okay then would have to treat it as a really crowded park and have planned it so (like you said, early mornings and evenings). Thanks for the info, will make it more enjoyable once I get to go!

I've been to Phantasialand once, it was quite nice, very good vibe and decorations
Is this the park somewhat close to Cologne (Köln)? I ended up there once by accident while backpacking and took basically a random Flixbus. Looked nice indeed!
(I don't recommend taking random Flixbuses for amusement)

Conserning the Netherlands: the Efteling is great, it's themed on European fairy tales! It's a very nice park for all ages.
Another nice, yet smaller park for the Netherlands is Toverland.
Basically all parks in Denmark. Maybe not Legoland during high season.
Which one is your favourite?
Most definite Djurs Sommerland. Being local helps as well. 😅

Parc Astérix, especially if you like rollercoasters. There are fast pass bundle options for a lot of the main rides as well. Halloween is also a great time to go, they have a bunch of great haunted houses and the park is open after hours.
Personal favourite: Prater Amusement park in Vienna, Austria.
Liseberg (Sweden)
Liseberg is pretty good. Grönalund in Stockholm is also good. The two parks have a very different vibe. Liseberg is a big park with the rides more spaced out while grönalund is a small space with the rides literally overlapping with each other.

Italy has Gardaland on lake Garda. Quite fun and you can visit the beautiful area afterwards.
