I moved my business from Microsoft / Google to Proton, then Proton's behaviour became a little bit concerning so I'm now moving everything across to NextCloud.

What was concerning about Proton? Genuine question, as I today tried out Proton but haven't settled for it yet so'd want to know if there's a reason to move to pick something else instead.

The service itself is great. The head of Proton made some comments online of a controversial nature - didnt agree with them but I was able to give the benefit of the doubt to Proton as a whole. Then they announced they were quitting Mastodon and gave a very disingenuous excuse.

This made my confidence in them wobble. I can exist with people of differing opinions, but when the corporate speak comes out - I'm off.

How are you using Nextcloud? Selfhosted or a provider?

[–] TheRelevantTrumpeter 2 points 2 weeks ago

Managed hosting from a provider.

Mostly looking around for European alternatives to US products. The main one is probably Amazon, there isn't a strong alternative where I live.

I use https://www.pricerunner.com/

PriceRunner was founded in 1999 and is active in the UK, Sweden, Denmark and Norway. PriceRunner became a part of Klarna 2022.

Interesting, but not available where I live. I'll investigate a bit, but the ones mentioned elsewhere (Bol for Belgium and Holland, Alza and Allegro for Central Europe) are not available here

!Flohmarkt@lemmy.ca has great coverage in Europe.

Had third party replacement parts fitted to my politically undesirable car.
