Summary

Putin rejected Trump’s proposal for a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine, instead demanding a halt to all foreign military aid, a condition Kyiv cannot accept.

Analysts see this as an unrealistic bid to weaken Ukraine. Trump secured only a limited agreement: Russia would stop bombing Ukraine’s energy infrastructure if Kyiv halted attacks on Russian refineries.

Meanwhile, Europe reaffirmed support for Ukraine. Talks will continue, but Russia appears intent on sidelining Ukraine and isolating the U.S. from its allies, raising concerns about its true motives.

Putin made Trump wait 2 hours.
Then he contradicted what Trump announced. Then Russia bombed some infrastructure. Classic master.

Trump?

Most likely.

This shows that Trump is nothing more than a simp, not that Putin is any kind of master.

[–] billwashere@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Trump’s a Russian employee at this point.

[–] hoppygarden@feddit.org 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

he had to wait 2h? I missed that ...

[–] scarabic@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago

Hard to miss. Trump and JV Dunce have been all over television and social media raving about this breach in decorum, and how badly Putin disrespected the sanctity of the White House and office of the President. /s just kidding they did all that over Zelensky not wearing a suit and saying “what diplomacy do you mean?”

This whole thing happened right after Ukraine wrecked a Russian Oil plant on the 13th with a new long range missile they developed themselves.

So yeah it does look a lot like Trumps only interfering to protect Putins oil

And Russia already stopped bombing Ukrainian power plants because the only ones left are nuclear and even Putin is hesitant about causing Chernobyl 2.0. So the ceasefire wouldn't affect Russian activities in any way whatsoever.

So this is some seriously weak negotiating from Diaper Don.

raising concerns about its true motives.

Trying to weaken the west as much as possible for the benefit of himself?

[–] ammonium@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Yeah, I don't understand who's still in doubt about Russia's true motives

[–] cabron_offsets@lemmy.world 23 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I bet trump’s asshole is loose like sleeve of wizard.

[–] Geobloke@lemm.ee 3 points 1 day ago

That and pressure on the grid is easing as Ukraine heads into summer

[–] unemployedclaquer@sopuli.xyz 10 points 1 day ago

fake news. trump made an announcement to the contrary many months ago. even Putin can't comprehend.

[–] Tronn4@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

As serious as Isreal is with ceasefires (they're not)

Hope this wakes Trump up to who's a foe and who's an ally and end the stupid tariff war.

Why would Krasnov end the tariff war that's proving so effective against his master's enemies?

[–] Revan343@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Hope this wakes Trump up to who's a foe and who's an ally

Do you think Trump is confused about that?

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

He works off who he personally likes and dislikes. So if Putin embarrasses him, he won't like him and then bingo bango.

[–] witty_username@feddit.nl -2 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Isn't putin just signalling internally that he's aiming to end the war? In particular towards the financial institutions in Russia.
I don't think Putin truly wants to end the war, he's just acting towards Russian institutions as if he's trying to

[–] Mog_fanatic@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

If history is any indication, the dude just wants to hit the pause button and make sure things aren't stacked against him when he comes back for whatever is left of Ukraine.

[–] HK65@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 day ago

Is he? Where is that being reported on?
