  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

This guy is a bigger turd than Hillary.

[–] echinacea@lemm.ee 2 points 12 hours ago

He's WEF (World Economic Forum). The Great Reset, "You'll own nothing and be happy."

Another confused dem thinking going centrist will win him the election?

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 17 hours ago (3 children)

Who is confused by this? The california fash (aka liberals) who hate the homeless? Or the fash who hate trans people?

Are californians/libs really so blind to who they actually are?

They voted to continue to use slave labor and they call themselves progressive. Yes.

Yes, they are.

If you follow CA politics, he isn't as progressive as you would hope. He speaks money first. We don't need anymore centrist elistist corporate dems.

Washington just got similarly boned with Bob Ferguson... He is protecting a sex pest in his ranks.

He kicked ass as AG and I already regret backing him. Why is this so fucking hard for these people??

[–] zephorah@lemm.ee 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They’re money. They’ve always been money. Backtrack through the news of Kamala’s campaign regarding all the money raised. Where did it go? What happened to it? The point is, win OR lose, they make bank.

Right, but Bob Ferguson was legitimately fighting giant corporations tooth and nail as Washington State's Attorney General. He was deeply loved for all the fighting for consumers he did. Like way more than we have had in a long time. I can understand with Kamala, I can't understand with my current Governor and former AG.

Newsom has always been a politician first, and now he sees the wind blowing MAGA and seems to be charting a MAGA-lite course. He has no principles or ethics, it's all about what will bring him power.

[–] thisphuckinguy@lemmy.world 24 points 1 day ago

Slap a red hat on him to make it official.

[–] aseriesoftubes@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He’s going to run for president in 2028. With the number of people repeating the trope about how the anti-Trump coalition needs a straight white man, I worry that Newsom will actually be the candidate.

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I sure fucking hope not. He is widely disliked on the Left and hated on the right. We need someone who doesn't already have a negative audience perception.

The perfect democratic candidate. Bound to lose. I can't wait to blame the voters.

The man was married to Kimberly Guilfoyle for five years. That's kinda all you need to know.

[–] ShittyBeatlesFCPres@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He’s not the first or last person to throw away a promising career to make a shitty, embarrassing podcast.

[–] AA5B@lemmy.world 1 points 14 hours ago* (last edited 14 hours ago)

Arguably his career is over: supposedly he can’t be re-elected.

So what’s his next career or where does he want to pivot?

  • A lot of people have been expecting national office, but he’s been villainized by the right enough that maybe he’s trying to freshen his image. Somehow trumps tv show freshened his image, so his con man past of broken contracts, failing businesses, and ridiculous ego didn’t hurt his election
  • but a lot of former politicians do well as talking heads. Maybe that’s his gig
