Talking ideals here not actuals. Ofc they don’t. They should. But they don’t. I’m aware we live in a political duopoly.

With capitalism, a middle class does not occur organically, it is created by the governing body through subsidies. If you do not subsidize a middle class there can be no middle class. This is fundamental. We really started to feel it in 2015 or so. I called it the squeeze. This tightening grip of not subsidies but further attempts to squeeze more and more blood from rocks.

Why? Our government has been subsidizing the wrong class for a while now. Trump did kick that up a notch the first time. The data is in. Trickle down economics doesn’t work.

As with a middle class, health care has to be subsidized. The governing body won’t allow richer people to pay the same taxes as the poorest of us so that will never happen.

And now Elon Musk is promising “hardship” going forward, as opposed to whatever this is the last 4 yrs, on us, the poorest, rather than paying mor taxes himself. Like that would impact his alien ass at all (he’s weirdly shaped, looks like a slightly melted wax museum figure, and was born into so much money he has no idea how humans live, that’s what I mean by alien). So don’t count on it ever happening going forward.

If you have preexisting conditions expect loss of coverage. And as a fallout from that expect the healthcare system to get slammed with much sicker people trying to find loopholes and other diagnoses so they can actually keep living and working.

We know. The DNC doesn’t care. Remember, RNC and DNC are money managers.

[-] zephorah@lemm.ee 57 points 22 hours ago

Remember, his candidacy was stolen from him by the DNC. If anyone has the right to rail at the DNC it is Bernie.

Where would the working class be right now if he’d been the 2016 guy?

Where does it go? The balance sheet should be public.

[-] zephorah@lemm.ee 5 points 1 day ago

People want change. Going standard fare doesn’t encourage that vote.

Gloating does neither you or anyone else any good.

You are right. Multiple players on the left brought up the interview question to Kamala: is there anything in Biden’s administration you would’ve done differently?

Her response: There isn’t anything that comes to mind. Complete with a confused look on her face.

That was a huge opportunity lost that absolutely did cost this election. It’s that wishy washy thing DEMs run on. Ofc I voted for her, Cluster B personality disorders shouldn’t be in charge of the worlds largest military, or, human beings, or, animals.

He’s right. Pug is also right. These are not mutually exclusive. Most human behavior occurs under the influence of multiple variables and some of those variables have interaction effects.

So shake hands because you both stated two very relevant points.

It happened because people are dumb. They think he’s bringing 2016-2020 prices with him. He’s not. There was dumb in the Harris campaign approach too, but that would add too much for one post. I voted for her, but even so.

And remember what’s on the slash list: social security and Medicare. How many of you 45+ people have a retirement? Anything you start now won’t be enough without the benefit of social security. Which you should get because you’ve been buying into it your entire work life.

And remember Elon? The guy said well have to learn to tighten our belts for a while. Endure some hardship. Like we haven’t been doing that already. I wonder if unions will be federally legal after he’s done.

Preexisting conditions anyone? You’re well and truly fucked.

Small business? Well. That’s not happening.

Wanna buy a house? Yea that’s still not happening either.

Rent going down? Again. No.

The list goes on.

My partner last night before he went to bed in a Benadryl induced sleep: I’m going to be spending more time in the woods if he wins. No you’re not. You’re going to be working 60hrs a week to keep up and so am I.

Which will probably be the point of the Elon Musk / Trump economy.

Everyone’s been talking to grandma this cycle. The grandmas are out in force.

Respect granny and go do the same.

[-] zephorah@lemm.ee 17 points 2 days ago

According to polling the last couple weeks, this is probably accurate.

As someone who is supposed to be there to defend American ideals, shouldn’t he be happy the kids are exercising those ideals and voting? It means he’s doing his job well. And yet this.

Rather worrisome regarding Trumps future use of the military against Americans he doesn’t like. Shows a willing level of aggression there that is disturbing.

Who doesn’t like Cuban? He symbolizes the American dream. He actually is from nothing, not born with a gold plated spoon up his ass.

He’s slowly breaking big pharma with cost plus which We The People are already saving money on. He supports young business.

What’s Elon doing for working people besides firing them and forcing them to return to the office? He’s from daddy money and apartheid.

This second political campaign between these two is both horrifying and enthralling.

Cubans many appearances are making great YouTube shorts, which where I started to notice this campaigning happening alongside fake “Harris” campaign text blitzes from Elon’s side of it.
