I’m with you, I think this is very fortunate.

(Sitting at home alone in the dark thinking about the bread I didn’t buy) “I have to know. I need to know. I need to know what it tastes like”

Fun fact: it’s actually a Mexican brand, that’s just the American branch logo. According to Wikipedia:

The name was formed as the combination of the Disney Bambi and Dumbo films names, which were the favourite movies of Marinela, Lorenzo Servitje's daughter.

[–] sundrei@lemmy.sdf.org 9 points 2 days ago

Decent chance they could have been called Dumbi.

We also got Otis Spunkmeyer. I ain't eating a muffin with cum in the name. Here come the British to say it's a totally normal name.

[–] Syltti@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

Not British, but "spunk" does have a different meaning. In the dark times, it also meant having "guts" or "moxy." People still use "spunky" in the current dark times.

I wish I had Jussis girl 🎶

[–] toofpic@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

And it's a song where you bought a 18-pack of Lapin Kulta, and now you sit in a sauna with her hiding a boner, and she only looks at Jussi because he won the chainsaw competition last year, right?

[–] saltnotsugar@lemm.ee 20 points 2 days ago

Tired of dry ass bread? Try some JussiPussi!!

It means jussi bag. Jussi is a boy's name. It's not jussi's bag, that would be jussin pussi. It's pronounced not like you think but instead like... idk actually how to describe it

I know enough Finnish people to know you're just pulling our legs and it really means exactly what we think.

[–] Boxscape@lemmy.sdf.org 7 points 2 days ago

idk actually how to describe it

[–] MajinBlayze@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Does it rhyme, and do you vocalize the j or pronounce like an English y?

[–] passenger@lemm.ee 4 points 2 days ago

The j is pronounced like y. Of course it rhymes. The ussi part is like... you see? With a long s and short e lol

[–] JoeTheSane@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

To balance out their dry, yeasty women?

If you like that, google "Finnish national feminist writer"

[–] PillowTalk420@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Ahhh.... You wanna da jussi pussi, eh? 😏

[–] Kusimulkku@lemm.ee 5 points 2 days ago

There's also Saturday pussi for kids and megapussi (rip)

[–] solsangraal@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 days ago

um what...jussi is my favorite kind of pussi

[–] pastermil@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Okay, I'll bite. Does this name actually mean anything (in Finnish)?

[–] peregrin5@lemm.ee 21 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yes it means "juicy pussy".

[–] Condiment2085@lemm.ee 9 points 2 days ago

Thank you for education

[–] ickplant@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Apparently it means "Jussi's bag." I hope someone Finnish can confirm.

[–] hemko@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Yeah or just Jussi bag. Jussi being typically man's name

[–] sundrei@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)
[–] FelixCress@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

More like dick sheath.

No, Jussi's bag would be Jussin Pussi. So this is just Jussi bag.

Goes well with this grape juice:

[–] wewbull@feddit.uk 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Spotted Dick is not a bread. It's a sponge pudding that you cover in custard.

[–] Diddlydee@feddit.uk 1 points 1 day ago

You're thinking of England. In Ireland it is often made as a sweet soda bread. My granny has made it for years.

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 days ago

They should post some ads on Pornhub

Someone made a short vid on this and it encapsulates the potential of this name quite well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_S_L_vVcu8
