Everything seemed fine until I saw the Zyn stand.

[–] skisnow@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 hour ago

I scraped my knuckles just looking at that

My grandmother had a stack of these in her basement and had them all crisscrossed. It is where she stashed her money. She claimed it was fireproof, she didn't have to memorize a combination and nobody would take the time to pull them all apart if they didn't know what was in them.

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 1 points 25 minutes ago

gammy would be very disappointed in you for sharing the secret.

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world 1 points 34 minutes ago

That makes a lot of sense to me...

[–] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 2 points 1 hour ago

Pfft, amateur. Milk crates are the way to go.

[–] hayali99@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

[–] letsgo2themall@lemmy.world 20 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

I think this is less "male" and more "poverty".

[–] fluffy@feddit.org 3 points 1 hour ago

An iPhone and an MagSafe charger is not poverty …

[–] Dasus@lemmy.world 7 points 2 hours ago

You can probably find a used nightstand for free easier than finding/buying those blocks to haul to your apartment.

First thought in a male brain seeing this: "wow, practical".

Then i saw the text.

[–] AoxoMoxoA@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

My first thought was : that is a stout table, not going anywhere, modular , hmm 🤔

[–] Bgugi@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

"Modular storage system. Our proprietary ceramic material comes from natural mineral and reclaimed resources. Modern industrial aesthetic leverages influences from brutalist architecture. Available as individual components or engineered systems. Call to schedule a consultation."

Yeah, seriously, make that in wood and it would be a hit.

The most popular shelves are just a bunch of cubes, one side open, slapped together.

[–] Nuxleio@lemmy.ml 3 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago) (1 children)

There is no fucking way I'm keeping a bedside table like that. Specifically a bedside table.

How the hell am I gonna show people my room politely with vibrators, lube, condoms, rope, spanking paddles, rope & a hitachi wand hanging out fuck all that lol

Showing...people your...room? Why would you do that?

[–] Flocklesscrow@lemm.ee 1 points 4 hours ago

Don't even need to remake much. Just put a slab of wood in the middle and on top.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 17 points 12 hours ago

thats a good looking house plant.

[–] sexy_peach@feddit.org 18 points 13 hours ago

Amazing brutalist aesthetic

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 10 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

If it's stupid and it works, it's not stupid.

[–] Shou@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago

Looks heavy. Could have probably gotten a much lighter side table for free from a sorting facility, or give aways over 2nd stuff websites.

[–] pineapplelover@lemm.ee 14 points 13 hours ago

This guys a damn genius

[–] REDACTED@infosec.pub 10 points 12 hours ago

Damn, this is both beautiful and functional. 10/10

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 17 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

It's quite clever until you stub your toe on it at 4am.

[–] GeeDubHayduke@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 hours ago

You just described furniture. And doors. And pets. And cars. And bridges. And...

[–] bootloop@lemmy.world 6 points 12 hours ago (2 children)

Would it hurt anymore than a normal bedside table though?

[–] Snowpix@lemmy.ca 0 points 3 hours ago

Wood might flex a bit and absorb the impact, making it hurt a bit less. Concrete won't.

[–] ApexHunter@lemmy.ml 13 points 14 hours ago (3 children)

The zyn hanging on the wall says everything I need to know about this person.

[–] laranis@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 hours ago

And multiple cans on a Velcro strip as if immediate and redundant access to them was necessary.

I expect this will damage the flooring.

[–] exasperation@lemm.ee 6 points 14 hours ago

It'll scratch the shit out of anything you put on top of it, too. Or in the little cubby holes.

Cinderblocks are literally just legos for adults. Not because it's more mature or anything, but because it's cheaper.

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 25 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago) (3 children)

Except, you know what I discovered just LOVES to live in cinder blocks? For instance the stack I had on my balcony? Black Widow Spiders, that's who. Whole families of them, each in a section, with egg sacs.

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 38 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

so...you're telling me you built a condo for black minorities and now you want to evict them?

just calling a shoe a shoe here, but....
