I there a directionless speed raptor?

[–] Croquette@sh.itjust.works 1 points 18 minutes ago

I don't know why, but this meme triggered me.

[–] CapriciousDay@lemmy.ml 1 points 25 minutes ago

Timeraptors went extinct but you can still run into them today.

[–] Zerush@lemmy.ml 1 points 37 minutes ago

A lot of Velociraptors out there, in Banks, Insurances, Companies and Policy

[–] Fenrisulfir@lemmy.ca 9 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

But would the raptor/raptor cancel out so there must be a distanceraptor but no timeraptor, that’s just silly

[–] general_kitten@sopuli.xyz 3 points 1 hour ago

or distance(raptor)^2

[–] gofsckyourself@lemmy.world 8 points 12 hours ago

Here's a few more pixels

[–] FilthyShrooms@lemmy.world 6 points 12 hours ago

That's a Laser Raptor! Fuck!

[–] 7empest@beehaw.org 2 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

Timeraptor has arrived .... ALAN

[–] LovableSidekick@lemmy.world 10 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

Acceleraptor = ΔVelociraptor / Timeraptor

[–] psx_crab@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

Acceleraptor is a nice pokemon name.

[–] Unbecredible@lemm.ee 1 points 10 hours ago

several derivatives down the line -> Snaperaptor

[–] RandomVideos@programming.dev 11 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

The legendary timeraptor that can control time

[–] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 5 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

And the distanceraptor that got tired of all the interplanetary travel and the tourists it brought and said "GO AWAY!"

[–] Speiser0@feddit.org 1 points 13 hours ago

Are those the diamond and perl pokemon?

[–] Evil_Shrubbery@lemm.ee 3 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

So ... if two Luxvelociraptors form a square and a Massoraptor crashes into them ...

[–] piranhaconda@mander.xyz 54 points 22 hours ago (4 children)

This implies the existence of an acceloraptor, and even better, the jerkraptor

[–] Tar_alcaran@sh.itjust.works 11 points 14 hours ago

This joke is a bit derivative

[–] _stranger_@lemmy.world 17 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

don't forget the snap, crackle, and popraptors!

[–] piranhaconda@mander.xyz 1 points 12 hours ago

Paleontologists across the world have been holding out on us! I demand they release the fossils of all the cool raptors!

[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 3 points 21 hours ago

or the Yomamaisaraptor!

[–] a14o@feddit.org 12 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Velociraptor = ∫ Acceleraptor ⨉ Timeraptor

[–] expatriado@lemmy.world 18 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago) (1 children)
[–] milicent_bystandr@lemm.ee 2 points 12 hours ago

Is that when the humans it ate didn't have enough fibre?

[–] PapaStevesy@lemmy.world 5 points 21 hours ago (2 children)
[–] adb@lemmy.ml 4 points 13 hours ago

There’s a lack of consensus the matter. Some specialists claim that it belongs to the family of Amphetaminoraptors.

[–] piranhaconda@mander.xyz 10 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

I didn't forget, I just don't know which direction that one ran off to!

[–] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 2 points 14 hours ago

It's hopped up on so much meth, even it doesn't have any idea where it went.

[–] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 10 points 16 hours ago (3 children)

Except that velocity includes a direction component while neither distance nor time do. This would be a speedraptor.

[–] milicent_bystandr@lemm.ee 4 points 12 hours ago

Displacemenraptor/timeraptor

Actually that's still wrong.

dDisplacemenraptor/dTime. Otherwise you cancel out the raptors.

[–] Pulptastic@midwest.social 1 points 10 hours ago

Yeah we need a distanceraptor

[–] Sergio@slrpnk.net 9 points 16 hours ago

The equation produced a large number of speedraptors, but only the velociraptors survived over evolutionary time, because the non-velocity-aware speedraptors kept chasing their prey in the wrong direction.

[–] CarbonIceDragon@pawb.social 17 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

Shouldn't the raptors cancel though?

[–] milicent_bystandr@lemm.ee 8 points 12 hours ago

Smh cancel culture these days

[–] PapaStevesy@lemmy.world 3 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

So is it Distance(raptor²)/Time(raptor²)?

[–] Speiser0@feddit.org 4 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

No, Distance(raptor²)/Timeraptor, or Distanceraptor/Time.

[–] PapaStevesy@lemmy.world 3 points 10 hours ago

Oh yeah, mine just cancel out too, lol

[–] _cnt0@sh.itjust.works 12 points 22 hours ago

Akshually that would just be Veloci. It should be Distanceraptor/Time. Raptor/Raptor = 1

[–] tetris11@lemmy.ml 9 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

speedraptor don't care where you are.
speedraptor care about speed.

[–] Speiser0@feddit.org 3 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Raptors can max out speed perception or distance perception, but not both. That's a law in physics.

[–] tetris11@lemmy.ml 1 points 4 hours ago

What does that effectively mean

[–] lvxferre@mander.xyz 8 points 22 hours ago

velociraptor = distance(raptor)²/timeraptor

acceleraptor = veloci(raptor)²/timeraptor = distance(raptor)²/(timeraptor)²

momentumraptor = mass(raptor)²/velociraptor

...you know what, I'm going to use dinosaur derivatives instead. GIMME A CHICKEN!

[–] necessary@lemm.ee 8 points 22 hours ago

Why not 'Chronoraptor'?

[–] guy_threepwood@lemmy.world 6 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Would a Velosaur not be riding a bicycle?

[–] milicent_bystandr@lemm.ee 1 points 12 hours ago

Yo! Man. I got me down on the two wheels
I got my own displacement
And the time - by line - is rent
Yo, man, got it down in the feels!
Pick up them claws;
We're opening doors
An' when I integrate again
I'm addin' that C, ya ken?
Yo, man, check the map, yeah:
I'm the Velo'C'Rapper
