Seriously, I canโt believe they were worse than Armenia by any metric. The juries absolutely robbed Albania as well. Beatrice was flawless.
Albania was flawless and brought down the house and finished the show.
I gladly sent 60 votes to Albania from Rest of the World. We overall gave them 10 points tonight, and 12 back in the semi-final.
How does the "60 votes" thing work?
In Rest of World, you get 20 votes per payment card. I have multiple credit cards. I believed enough in Beatrice & Kole's song to sink about $60 on it last night. In the balance, RoW gave Albania its full 12 points in Semi-Final 1 and 10 points in the Final.
This, maybe the voters didn't understand the lyrics.
The biggest shock of the night for me ... Switzerland's televote score. They were second with the juries... second! And, sure, it's definitely a jury pleaser more than a televote winner, but ...
... ZERO?
Honestly, I thought it was dreadful and surprised it did so well even with the jury.
I realise it's all subjective, but I'm not in any way surprised by the people's score.

They've been coordinating votes and advertising heavily.

I'm sure that's some cheating going on as well with throwaway Sims or outright buying votes.
I mean, they're notorious for hacking, and even did a supply chain attack with beepers.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if they did voip voting via VPN or such. I'd imagine a nation state hacking a song contest would be trivial by comparison.
I had this idea, but don't know how to implement it, that if a mass poll was done globally on voting, it could be used to see if any cheating occur. With the high amount of points Israel got, it wouldn't take much deviation to have evidence that the audience vote was manipulated.
Yeah, not 100% sure how it's implemented, but if you compromise a mobile app with the right permissions you could probably send the SMS from what's essentially a botnet.
Voting is exlusively via SMS, the voting app also just sends an SMS and so does the website. The only country not doing televoting is San Marino, too small and relies on Italy, if you send an SMS from there it'll be probably counted as Italy. SMS is a crappy system and you can put whatever you want as sender (sometimes for codes you get an SMS not even from a number, but from a name because there's no restriction on that). You can pretend to be someone else relatively easy and the receiver has no way of checking if it's even a real number.
Happened last year too, similar number of votes, but they got fifth place because the first four got much more points than this year.
I'm more amazed by Estonia's high jury placement.
His legs were obviously tuned to a frequency that hypnotised them into voting for him.

Yeah they got lots of votes for reasons beyond my personal understanding. Even without the politics involved I found many performances better than theirs.
Edit: for the protocol, I didn't like Austria either all that much. But I did like Armenia and the late machiato guy.

Congrats Austria! I read that Finns made JJโs outfit and also planned the show. So as a Finn Iโm happy. We made a mark in this victory even though Erika and KAJ didnโt win.

Agreed. Our song wasn't great, and we could have sent a better one if our preliminaries weren't rigged.
While I'm just as salty over the exclusion of Feuerschwanz as over Electric Callboy, at least you guys got a decent amount of points this year.
