I know we would have someone more capable of implementing the hateful, bigoted policies that the right has to offer if Trump was assassinated. But man, I’d be watching that video and rejoicing in his public execution, every fucking day.

God: Obviously I'm not able to stop the gunman from becoming insane and buying a ranged hypodermic lethal injection device, he's way too powerful for me, but maybe I can use what little power I actually possess to slightly nudge this bullet away from a man who is objectively awful and into a man who saves lives for a living. There's no God, if there was the bullet would have hit Trump in the face. But just like Hitler he evaded every attempt on his life. Honestly, the resemblance with Hitler is insane. Doesn't drink alcohol, has weird hair, spreads hate and fear, targets minorities, sends them to a concentration camp across the border, targets judges, media and politicians opposing him. Only difference is that Hitler actually improved the German economy, something Trump fails misseably at.
He was MAGA, but he still saved people because that was his job at least.
Oh damn! Again, the similarities... But eventually he got the economy running, when he started to make vast amounts of war machines.
I'm honestly not sure that Trump's death would have been the best thing for the world.
Hear me out.
If Trump were assassinated, he would have become a martyr - and it would have been easy to paint the Left as the culprits, thus obliterating any chance of winning the upcoming election, and more. But it wouldn't have been Trump who won the presidency - it would have been someone more capable and more subtle.
Trump is laying such waste to the government that he's quickly turning people against him - and his vanity and incompetence are undermining his own party's efforts to secure their power. As long as we survive the current attacks on democracy - which is, admittedly, a big if - then he may have utterly destroyed the power base for the GOP for a long time to come. A destruction that wouldn't have happened if someone with their sanity intact had landed the office.
We're going to suffer in the meantime, but at least we have a chance to turn it around - a chance that may not have happened if Trump had eaten that bullet.

Abso-fucking-lutely. He and his cronies deserve to rot in prison, labeled as treasonous bastards. But it seems that ship has sailed. And now we are left with the consequences of that inaction.

When John Paul II was shot he first thanked the guiding hand of the Virgin Mary for moving the bullet away from his heart. Didn't give so much merit to the team of doctors who fought to save his life, and didn't wonder why Mary didn't move the bullet completely out of the way.
