israel is an illegal force occupying Palestine. literally everything they do is the definition of illegal.

[–] Objection@lemmy.ml 10 points 8 hours ago

I don’t fully agree that ~~Israel~~ Iran is violating international law. When a country’s existence is being questioned by ~~Iran or Hamas~~ Israel or the US, it’s not so easy to respond strictly within the framework of international law

Who struck first?

Ah but of course, PoC don't get to have security concerns, do they?

im as always deeply ashamed and disappointed in my government. not a single other german i know supports this shit.

Seriously, something in WWII broke German minds. Yes, Nazis were horrible but you went from one stupid extreme to another stupid extreme and both ended up with genocides

Germany, please, can you try to go to some middle ground somewhere?

[–] lennivelkant@discuss.tchncs.de 19 points 11 hours ago

We're trying! Some of us, at least. I have plenty of "anti-genocide no matter the flag" people in my general social environment. Hell, even at work do some colleagues openly criticise it with no pushback.

Unfortunately, the "Christian" parties and one quite blatantly (Neo-)Nazi party hold too much public attention and influence. I guess massacring muslims is still popular with Christians...

And thus began the Battle for Middle-Earth.

Whatever our colonial outpost does is of course not illegal. Rules for thee but not for me. No nation should trust western nations who play these games. Only Ireland and Spain seem to have some integrity

[–] Rich_Benzina@feddit.it 20 points 13 hours ago

I dont get how, as europe, we still insist to follow every fucking step of that travesty of a country that is the united states. We have the resources to do everything on our own terms and we still do this blatant fucking ass licking of a warmongering bastard and his little fucking friends like israel.

We dont have the balls to stand up for anything even its blatant violation of international law, of which we pretend to be the biggest defenders. Yeah israel is aleays right and yet again another western violation of sovereignity is justified because iran has nuclear (which israel has since decades) but they would use it bad not like us, good and morally stable.

[–] reddit_sux@lemmy.world 3 points 8 hours ago

Let us now see if this attack on a sovereign country, Iran, by another country, US, draws ire from EU.

germans excuses to support genocide.

[–] FerretyFever0@fedia.io 48 points 18 hours ago (2 children)

They overcorrected from last time. The horseshoe theory of genocide.

[–] FundMECFSResearch@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago)

See Rwanda for example:

Where one ethnic group genocided another (Rwanda genocide), and now that Kagame is in power (from the victim group), he’s starting to commit human rights abuses to the other group in the name of “anti-genocide” but it’s getting closer and closer to well… Genocide.

[–] freeman@sh.itjust.works 41 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

It's not overcorrection, they simply learned the wrong lesson from WW2: "Don't mess with the Jewish" instead of "Don't be pro genocide." It's also been a long time since then and the consequences they suffered.

[–] FerretyFever0@fedia.io 2 points 7 hours ago

Could be true. I think those are similar things. From doing whatever you want to a group, to letting a group do whatever they want to others. I feel like that'd fit on a horseshoe shaped object?

[–] Objection@lemmy.ml 4 points 8 hours ago

They learned how to avoid being held responsible for genocide by outsourcing it.

[–] belastend@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 14 hours ago

[–] herseycokguzelolacak@lemmy.ml 6 points 13 hours ago

Merkel is a racist and genocide supporter.
