In my heart I'd like to deliberate more, weigh things out and research more sometimes, but in my day to day life I find the inaction and indecision I experience forces my hand in a way to be more decisive. We shape the future through actions and decisions--not deciding and allowing status quo or laissez-faire to continue is a decision with consequences. Pretending that inaction doesn't have horrifying consequences is something I overcame in my 20s at work watching various people, managers scared to make choices--and then suffering the consequences.

Hasty, rushed or imprudent decisions are damaging, but I don't know I'd say they are any worse than inaction in my experience. I make decisions and try to allow for the best information available, based on knowledge that there are no perfect decisions or outcomes and be ready for what follows--which good or bad, will probably be another decision!

At least we have contemplated the worst case scenarios 😊

Multiple times daily!

I very easily get stuck in loops of indecision and anxiety when faced with choices or options. So much so that I've made an effort to rationalize away as much everyday choice as possible by stuff like eating the same things every day, always having the same routine etc.

My anxiety is not rooted in fear of consequences, so I can make dumb decisions without effort!

Are there though? I've never met one

This is kind of a superpower though, isn't it? I owe much of my success to repeatedly reassessing each situation to find the best possible outcome. I don't understand how anyone can improve their situation by just going with the flow.

Crazy that there are people - outside…
