Enough Musk Spam

For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

Wasn't he playing a pc based game recently? When he got outed for cheating? He still played it on stream, so his claims are demonstrably false and may be perjurous.

Rich people with good lawyers don't have to care about such pesky things as the truth.

[–] Blue_Morpho@lemmy.world 27 points 1 week ago

There's pictures of him on a jet playing the game on his laptop.

[–] el_bhm@lemm.ee 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He has a smartphone. It computes. It is a computer.

[–] Jacob_Mandarin@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Humans can compute things too…. I agree that a phone is a computer but i am not sure the definition is as easy as that :D

[–] Schwim@lemmy.zip 50 points 1 week ago

Musk also says he created Tesla, so I'd take it with a grain of salt.

Elon Musk‘s lawyers are claiming he “does not use a computer,” contradicting Musk’s social media posts, video game streams, employees at his companies, publicly available data, and common sense.

"He doesn't use a computer. He uses several computers"

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 32 points 1 week ago

They should be disbarred for lying.

[–] GenosseFlosse@feddit.org 18 points 1 week ago (2 children)

"He does not use a computer, he uses a MacBook!" - the lawyer, probably.

I remember seeing this on TV.

The article points out he has played video games on laptops to show starlink worked on a flight, and he posted a picture on X pertaining to "his laptop" being 3 years old and having a sticker he didn't want to get rid of..

[–] vala@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

He also tweeted recently about getting new laptop and not being able to bypass the windows account requirements.

As Wired reports, Musk’s attorneys made the claim as part of a 2025 lawsuit against OpenAI, which Musk co-founded in 2015 but left three years later after a failed takeover attempt.

Because of course that's what he tried to fucking do.

🧐 🤔

Literally just took this screenshot today so they aren't tying very hard to cover anything up.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

He carries a phone and used X.

A phone is a computer.

[–] WraithGear@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago (2 children)

A phone is a computer, a car is a computer, apparently a fridge is a computer…

[–] tal@lemmy.today 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I mean, yes, but a Mac is also a personal computer (PC), despite the fact that "PC" has also been used to distinguish a Windows machine from a Mac machine for a long time. Terms can have multiple meanings.

[–] WraithGear@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Right but for all relevant reasons, the lawyer is talking out of his ass. Just because he isn’t using a PC does not change anything. But even so last i checked, path of exile 2 is only on the pc.

I put my dishwasher behind a smart plug because that piece of shit has to be hard rebooted from time to time.

[–] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

He's on twatter constantly and streams him badly playing games he's paid people to power level his characters in, of course he uses a computer.

[–] A7thStone@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

It's all computer.
