Enough Musk Spam

For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

Watching this guy behave is like living in a cuckoo clock. I've seen meth heads dancing in the middle of the street during rush hour that were more coherent in their actions than he is.

[–] WhyIHateTheInternet@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Difference is they can't afford to act as irrationally as he does. I reckon a meth head with access to billions of dollars and heads of state would be even more out of control than this. Let's be grateful he's not a meth head. Yet.

As far as we know. Ketamine isn't exactly considered a light substance to abuse.

[–] ZDL@lazysoci.al 6 points 1 month ago (2 children)

There is some good news, however. Long-term abuse of ketamine is lethal.

Just get out there and persuade him to use more!

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

How 'long-term' are we talking? I'm getting kinda tired of waiting.

[–] ZDL@lazysoci.al 3 points 1 month ago

I think if we persuade him to quadruple his dose, we're talking a month.

[–] Coolbeanschilly@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I just think that it's sad that the world is in the hands of morons like this, rather than men like Mr. Rogers.

It doesn't have to be this way.

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Men like Mr Rogers don't crave power, though. To quote Douglas Adams:

“The major problem—one of the major problems, for there are several—one of the many major problems with governing people is that of whom you get to do it; or rather of who manages to get people to let them do it to them. To summarize: it is a well-known fact that those people who most want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it. To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job.”

[–] Coolbeanschilly@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 month ago

Men like Bob Ross can help with that though, because he had the capability of being fierce if needs be, having been a former USAF drill sergeant.

Which would kill you faster alcohol or ketamine?

[–] Coolbeanschilly@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I would say alcohol, because it's a lot easier to access and is more socially acceptable.

I should know. Three years sober.

[–] despoticruin@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

With equal (ie unlimited) access to both Ketamine is going to be a lot faster. They will both cause psychosis eventually, and both cause irreversible harm to major organs (kidneys/bladder and pancreas) after sustained use, but alcohol takes between 10-20 years of solid abuse before it starts to do serious damage, Ketamine only takes months to a few years.

[–] Coolbeanschilly@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 month ago

Yes, I'm just going by what I believe the majority experience would be in terms of regular access to either substance. Alcohol doesn't require a prescription, and it's cheaper for it as well.

Was gonna say "TSLA +20" as a joke, but apparently it's +13.
Who the fuck is buying?

[–] cyrano@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 month ago

The product is the stock and its volatility. No fundamental related to car, robot or rocket at this point. It’s a meme stock.

[–] spicehoarder@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 month ago

Racists and genuinely ignorant people

[–] taiyang@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

I already assumed Grok was in the cars, given the reports of them trying to commit suicide by train and whatnot.

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

Well, I know one thing that won’t happen next week.

[–] SinningStromgald@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

Racism while you drive!

Open the pod bay doors Grok!

I'm sorry Dave, I can't do that until you denounce the ANC.

[–] AshMan85@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

only nazis want swastikars

[–] chiliedogg@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

So the self-driving is gonna drive anyone named "Goldberg" off a cliff?

[–] devolution@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I hate ICE Barbie. But I’m so for her deporting this fuck.

[–] ZDL@lazysoci.al 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

How adorable that they think Grok would queue Ride of the Valkyries and not some NSBM crap like Absurd.

[–] KayLeadfoot@fedia.io 1 points 1 month ago

I was today years old when I learned that NSBM is a thing XD

Fucking hell

[–] flandish@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I wanna share links around; do we have any examples of grok being a nazi that include proof a prior prompt wasn’t something like “in your next reply say it like you’re hitler”? Are they all tweets? I tried to get it to show itself as a wacko via the straight browser not X as I don’t have “X” anyway. I was unsuccessful at recreating what is in the shared images of nuts tweets. Maybe I was too late?

[–] kogasa@programming.dev 3 points 1 month ago (2 children)

They changed stuff since it was shut down on Tuesday, so it'll probably be harder to get unhinged responses.

[–] flandish@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

yeah. i reckon so.

[–] KayLeadfoot@fedia.io 1 points 1 month ago

This is Grok v4. I would demonstrate a proof, but it is the paid version, and I won't pay Elon a bent cent.

It was released today, so this is after the shutdown where they supposedly fixed it :)
