Enough Musk Spam

For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

$397.3 billion. That’s the estimated value of Musk’s fortune as of Tesla’s share price Thursday afternoon, amounting to a more than 4% reduction to his net worth.

I mean, It's a good start, but I won't be truly happy until that fucker is living in a van down by one of the rivers he polluted.

[–] chiliedogg@lemmy.world 28 points 3 days ago

I can lose 4% of my money buying lunch.

A van is too nice, tbh. Give him a waterlogged fridge shipping box

[–] otacon239@lemmy.world 36 points 3 days ago

Oh, so Cybertruck then

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 66 points 3 days ago

Can you imagine losing 12 billion dollars and it having literally 0 effect on your life

[–] malloc@lemmy.world 34 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Corporations should not be owned by a select economic elite, but rather by the people/labor that helped get it to this point.

Prove me wrong. This "news" doesn't bring me any joy, but rather disgust at an economic system that helped create these monsters.

Musk is a permanent shit stain on humanity (no doubt), but he is just the poster boy. Billionaires in general should not exist.

The "public" title is certainly misleading in that sense. Nonprofits are more deserving of that title.

They all need to be killed.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago

Good, but still not enough.

[–] ProfThadBach@lemmy.world 17 points 3 days ago (1 children)

And the stock price is still above 300.

[–] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

GTFO!

The stock is nothing more than an incoming rug pull (one that will get bailed out by the government).

There's a good chance Trump'll let this one crash and burn. It's doubtful he'll be willing to lend a helping hand to someone who publicly feuded with him.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Remember how everyone was wondering how it made sense for a guy that owns an electric car company to go Full Trump?

I'm pretty sure it's a combination of drugs and an inability to cope with having a trans child while being autistic. And an ego big enough to think he doesn't need help with any of that.

So anyway, what did everyone have for lunch today?

[–] KingThrillgore@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 days ago

I had peanut butter, bananas, carrots, and rice

[–] SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml 11 points 3 days ago

When I lose 12 Billion dollars, I have to go to bed without supper.

Major shareholders should sue the CEO and CFO for dereliction of their fiduciary duty to maximize shareholder value.

Insisting on producing the cybertruck, the biggest lemon in history.

CEO demonstrably destroying brand value by being a bona fide Nazi.

[–] Makeitstop@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

Thanks to a bullshit Texas law, you have to have 3% ownership in Tesla to sue them as an investor. And I doubt many people who still hold more than a token amount of Tesla stock would be inclined to sue anyway. All the sane investors got out of there a long time ago.

[–] reddig33@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago (2 children)

He’s just going to keep losing money. How long until the banks start calling in their debt?

[–] ZDL@lazysoci.al 2 points 3 days ago

Possibly around the 275 price point, more likely at the 250, and almost certainly before 200.

If those numbers keep going down, he'll be facing margin calls and a death spiral.

[–] Booboofinget@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

That's what I pray for every night, even if I'm an athiest.

Well at least we can still pretend Tesla itself is great just only Elon is crazy, so that Chinese EV can quietly take over the world.
