Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Is he that scared of Eptein information coming out that he's going to occupy American cities to get the media to forget?

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 44 points 6 days ago (2 children)

I'm like 99% sure he's doing this to have control over DC law enforcement so that when he does some absolutely outrageous thing that will cause a mass riot he'll be ready to crush it. :/

[–] A_norny_mousse@feddit.org 24 points 6 days ago

Like "winning" the next election.

[–] builtbytrent@lemmy.ca 7 points 6 days ago

That’s what I think. I also imagine not all of the tanks he brought in for his little celebration left.

Mix in flattening the rose garden you could see him wanting to have a firm open clearing there for defences.

[–] Randomgal@lemmy.ca 30 points 6 days ago (1 children)

No, that is the distraction, so you can keep talking about the files while he occupies American cities.

Wake up.

[–] ubergeek@lemmy.today 31 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Neither are "The Distraction". Both are salient issues being done, right now.

[–] CluckN@lemmy.world 4 points 5 days ago

Pshh, as you type a response to my distraction I’m headed right for your cookie jar.

[–] Phegan@lemmy.world 15 points 6 days ago

No he wants to do this regardless of being on the list. This was in project 2025.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago

Yes, but it can be two things.

Remember, he's not only a demented rapist fraud, he’s also a tool of russia.

[–] SoftestSapphic@lemmy.world 55 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Reminder that police who do not identify themselves are not police.

It is legal to kill in self defense or defense of others if unidentifiable people are trying to abduct people off the street.

It's moral to do so even

[–] atticus88th@lemmy.world 31 points 6 days ago (5 children)

It may be legal on paper or by social media lawyers but courts and federal judges will be quick to ignore all that shit. Also I don't know about you but me pulling out an EDC to defend against a team of highly trained and equipped like they are taking a stroll through Baghdad Red Zone circa 2007 seems like unfavorable odds for me. I like living sometimes.

[–] electric_nan@lemmy.ml 18 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Equipped, yes. Trained, likely not.

[–] Soup@lemmy.world 4 points 5 days ago

If they were trained they’d probably not be constantly afraid of everything and would be able to hit their targets more often than they hit innocent bystanders.

[–] MangioneDontMiss@lemmy.ca 13 points 6 days ago (3 children)

I'd be less worried about the courts, which might actually look in your favor, and more worried about having to potentially fight multiple armed and body armored assailants. That's not to say disagree with you though. If you're well-armed and confident, go for it.

No one wants to die, everyone needs to make the right decisions for themselves, and for legal reasons I would never advocate for violence.

However...

...turned out to be a bit of a surprise for the world's most powerful military.

[–] Mediocre_Bard@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago

The police won't ignore that shit though. Lessons learned in blood and all that.

Release the Trump/Epstein files

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 51 points 6 days ago (1 children)

FYI - He tried this in Portland last time:

https://www.npr.org/2020/07/17/892277592/federal-officers-use-unmarked-vehicles-to-grab-protesters-in-portland

Bonus: The guy in charge of it, Chad Wolf (not making that up) had been illegally appointed and had no authority:

https://www.theusconstitution.org/litigation/dont-shoot-portland-v-wolf/

[–] adarza@lemmy.ca 17 points 6 days ago (1 children)

the district is an entirely different animal than portland or any other city within the fifty states.

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 8 points 6 days ago

Entirely different, but Trump's tactics are the same.

[–] takeda@lemmy.dbzer0.com 40 points 6 days ago

He tested it in California, now is going after DC. Next will be New York until eventually he will get to all states.

Remember that it is much easier to stop 1 10,000 people protest than 10 1,000 people protests.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 32 points 6 days ago

If you wanna crack down on crime in DC, start with the biggest criminal in the whitehouse

[–] FenderStratocaster@lemmy.world 26 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Those quarter pounders need to get to work on those capillaries

[–] RizzRustbolt@lemmy.world 13 points 6 days ago

I am expending all my psychic energy all week on getting him to trip and fall down the Air Force 1 steps this Friday.

And I invite all my fellow citizens of planet Earth to do the same.

[–] selkiesidhe@sh.itjust.works 7 points 4 days ago

Basically the Pedo Party are following in Hitler's footsteps and once again the world is gonna let it happen till a giant ass worthless ww starts

Over an ugly fat addled pedophile with a tiny dick and low IQ...

[–] DrFistington@lemmy.world 22 points 6 days ago (1 children)

If the DC police just storm the Whitehouse and supreme Court, and publicly execute every Trump cronie they come across I think they'll find some really nice bonuses under the tree this year

[–] tane69@lemmy.world 24 points 6 days ago

This is such a cope because it assumes they’re not on his side

[–] rizzothesmall@sh.itjust.works 22 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Tf? Is it 1936 over there or what?

[–] flandish@lemmy.world 29 points 6 days ago

to answer: yes. yes it is.

Trumps organs need to seize up and stop working.

[–] iAvicenna@lemmy.world 8 points 5 days ago

not president, Dictator

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 14 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Christ, he called out the statues again.

He and his racist base are just so butthurt about statues. So he's going to occupy a city to....1. protect racist statues, 2. go after the homeless, and 3. remove slums.

[–] numbermess@fedia.io 6 points 5 days ago

My dad (RIP) became nuts over civil war statues. I don't remember him ever saying anything hot/cold fora long time one way or another about the Confederacy even though we lived near Shiloh Military Park. We talked about Civil War kind of stuff normally for years, but then all of a sudden he was 100% white hot on Civil War statues and would not entertain anything but total agreement. He would slam the phone down on me and then call right back to chew me out if I didn't instantly and fully agree with what he was saying about they are part of our history and should be protected. He'd park in front of the county courthouse to make sure that nothing happened to the statue there. I felt like he was acting the same way that I did when I was a dumb idiot and getting mad about all the wrong things.

[–] BipolarSilence@lemmy.cafe 5 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

He's doing all this over statues? I hate this fucking shit man

[–] Glitterbomb@lemmy.world 14 points 6 days ago

Title makes it sound like the DC police are a bunch of pussies and trump grabbed them

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 6 points 5 days ago

yeah.... y'all really need to start protecting yourselves with force

[–] RizzRustbolt@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago (3 children)

Didn't even declare martian law first.

[–] SpikesOtherDog@ani.social 6 points 6 days ago

Didn't even declare martian law first.

Doesn't have to. He's already the leader.

@Davriellelouna My first thought when Trump said this was that he pardoned the Jan 6 insurrections who spit on the very same DC and Capitol police officers.
