I have found assuming that the standard tankie position is more about opposing America / the West than anything else is a very reliable explanation. Everything else is secondary to that. Support Russia not because it does anything good but because it does things America doesn't like

I didn't get second thoughts until I saw the CCP shit and the hyper theatrical way they combat people in comment sections. Like, as a rule they're all doing a weird grandiose combat sport. Maybe there are people like me, but who went all in because it feels nice to feel like they're finally dominating an argument for once since 2015.

I hate the rhetoric of "it's been a part of our civilization since ancient times" so much because what land was and wasn't part of your culture a thousand years ago means nothing to modern society.
