A lot of users on Twitter were comparing this to saying that racism in the U.S. or its military must be over because Barack Obama became president.

First panel should be reporters pre-2/22 saying that Ukraine has a Nazi problem before completely and suddenly denying it as Russian propaganda.

[–] yogthos@lemmygrad.ml 13 points 2 years ago (1 children)

for sure, there are dozens of mainstream western articles talking about the nazi problem in Ukraine

And that's not even taking into account the whole Canadian Parliament shit

There's been a massive push to normalize nazis in the west via Ukraine. All of a sudden we started seeing the narrative that nAzIs WeRen't All bAd aKchUally, and and how they were really just defending Europe and western values from the gbil gommunist hordes.

At the same time they try to reduce every enemy as a clone of hitler while whitewashing actual nazi rhetoric.

GDF video about "sure, hamas = nazis" is really good. The entire anti-hamas campaign is built on nazi propaganda tactics.

I wonder if it was intentional on the artist's part to change the helmet after panel 2?

[–] ksynwa@lemmygrad.ml 11 points 2 years ago (1 children)

IMO that cannot be unintentional

As in, the press functions as the police by enforcing the dominant narrative?

[–] ksynwa@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 2 years ago

No. The artist changing the text on the helmet between panels 2 and 3.
