If Die Hard is a Christmas movie then so is Die Hard 2. Yet the sequel never gets brought into this debate by either side ๐Ÿค”

I still cannot believe that the full title for the home release of that movie was Die Hard 2: Die Harder.

That's what made the late 80s/early 90s cool. Nothing had to make sense, it just had to sound cool to 7 year old kids, and executives coked out of their gourds - combining to make the unlikeliest demographic.

Memphis Design was also popular in the 80s-90s, and is sometimes described as Bauhaus meets Fisher-Price. I wonder if there's any coincidence there.

What would you have called it? Die Less Hard?

[โ€“] MossyFeathers@pawb.social 6 points 2 years ago (2 children)

No. Probably something that sounds even sillier tbh, like "Die Hard 2: the harder they fall the harder they die"

To Those About to Die Hard, We Salute You

That's something you keep for #3.

'Die harder too, also.'

Die Hard 2 is great, and it has O'Brien in it! (Oh wait, I'm not in Risa right now)

[โ€“] lugal@sopuli.xyz 11 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I honestly never watched Die Hard, but a movie that seems to be about suffering with O'Brien, well it's a match

Full disclosure, he has a very small part as a pilot.

I think you mean an chief transporter

What Christmas movie comes out July 15?

It's brilliant. There's no competition in July.

[โ€“] GlitterInfection@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Just in time for Christmas in July.

I am sure you can check the ol' Hallmark Channel lineup

If only clemenceau had accepted the Turkish proposal to codify its Christmas movie status in the 1919 Paris agreement, could have prevented a lot of violence smh

First or Second council of Nicea?

They were in agreement

Hardware (1990) is also a Christmas movie, as it takes place on Christmas eve https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV-qegEKMQw

Matthew Black, @MatthwBlack

The thing is, Die Hard wasn't a Christmas movie originally. The script was changed by Constantine in 336 to align it with the Sol Invictus festival.

The Messianic Secret, @Messianic...

IT WAS DECLARED A CHRISTMAS MOVIE AT THE COUNCIL OF NICEA I CAN'T BELIEVE I HAVE TO GET ANGRY ABOUT THIS

[off topic]

The Long Kiss Goodnight is a Christmas movie and is superior to Die Hard.
