Campus police have just posted an update on X about the shooting, confirming that Kirk was shot and that a suspect is in custody.

"Today at about 12:10 a shot was fired at the visiting speaker, Charlie Kirk. He was hit and taken from the location by his security. Campus police is investigating, a suspect is in custody," the post says.

I will confess that my first reaction was laughter and applause, and my second reaction was certainly not to regret my first.

  1. Be calm when the unthinkable arrives. Modern tyranny is terror management. When the terrorist attack comes, remember that authoritarians exploit such events in order to consolidate power. Do not fall for it.

"The best way to honor Charlie’s memory is to continue his work" - Gavin Newsom, on the loss of the living embodiment of his moral compass.

Usually democrats move to the right after the primaries, but he knows the primaries are already decided.

Newsom is a piece of shit, but that quote is out of context. The 'work' wasn't literal. It was 'working to use your platform to reach across thé ailes' or some kind of horse shit. If he absolutey had to say something, offer condolences to the family and shut the fuck up. The whole make sure you please everyone is going to leave everyone pissed about something

Which kirk literally never attempted to do. But he certainly told newsom what to think about trans people. Which to a centrist is the same damned thing as reaching across the aisle.

More of a sycophant than an ally
