He was literally killed for being not far-right enough. They still blame the left. No conclusive logic detected anywhere in the right politosphere

[–] Geobloke@aussie.zone 8 points 3 days ago

They haven't established a motive yet

Not sure about this. There's been more information coming out and I was team Groyper on his ideology but he may have just done an about face after living with his trans roommate (who is cooperating with police, and shocked he did this).

Quoting AP here:

Cox said the suspect’s partner was transgender, which some politicians have pointed to as a sign Robinson was targeting Kirk for his anti-trans views. But authorities have not said whether it is relevant as they investigate Robinson’s motive.

“The roommate was a romantic partner, a male transitioning to female,” Cox said. “I can say that he has been incredibly cooperative, this partner has been very cooperative, had no idea that this was happening.”

Fuck Cox. That asshole literally prayed that he'd be able to blame it on an immigrant. The original story was that he lived with his father, then suddenly a trans person appeared from out of nowhere.

Never trust initial reporting on an event like this. His name was associated legally with the address they shared, looks like he did confess to it privately.

Yeah, the circus around it is insanity, but you have to be able to adjust your view on an event as the truth comes out, even when it's as politically charged as this.

[–] Dragonstaff@leminal.space 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Hey, notice how I didn't make any claims?

You quoted the authorities with no corroborating evidence, and then a TMZ(🙄) story about a note that the police say existed but they can't produce.

You're a mark. Take your own advice.

Never trust initial reporting on an event like this.

[–] aow@sh.itjust.works 1 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

The story specifically includes documents (not the note, the PDF) with an (alleged) conversation between the suspect and his roommate on discord. Could be fake, but given anything you write on there is police accessible and he confessed, twice, at some point you have to admit it's a stretch not to believe it.

Insulting me doesn't change the facts.

[–] Dragonstaff@leminal.space 2 points 10 hours ago

(alleged)

Thanks for making my point. You and the media believe everything the police tell you, despite how often police lie. I'm just asking you to bless credulous.

We don't know the facts. I'm only insulting you because it's fun.

Groypers being into femboys seems to be a thing

[–] zarkanian@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 days ago

Being into trans women and/or femboys has been a chan thing for a long time.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 2 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

fuentes was allegedly into gay porn.

[–] KAtieTot@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The only thing I've seen linking their roomate to "transness" is a single Instagram makeup filter photo. Not exactly conclusive evidence.

"They were trans"

"Their roomate was trans"

Anything to attach this to queers and not to the alt right.

[–] aow@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago

He was probably gay or pan but that's got nothing to do with him coming from MAGA background and snapping over the hate. That's the real story, here.

I saw a comment a while ago that called it myth making. It stuck with me for some reason. They don't have a reality. They have right wing mythos.

What's astounding to me is how innate that is. How can one process stimulus and information. Then filter it through a second layer of myth crafting.

At least to me reality is what reality is. I don't take in information and then think how can I gymnastic this into my mythology. How is anyone even like that??? The right seems to do it reflexively.

[–] Star@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 3 days ago

Mythmaking is a central component of fascism. It's an idealogy built upon convenient lies, for the sake of essentially collecting paychecks.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 3 days ago

cant blame the far right, which your party depends on for supporter, unless you want to alienate your own voters. thats how simple republicans are. the right does not like change or a paradigm shift in thier way of life(they are like cats cant handle change well)

[–] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 81 points 3 days ago (1 children)

All those Good Guys With Guns didn't help either.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 44 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Clearly we needed more guns

[–] shrugs@lemmy.world 43 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I'm going to call it death button from now on. It makes it so more obvious: "everyone needs a death button, so that the good guys can press the button faster then the bad guys. This will lead to less deaths". Ridiculous thinking...

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 21 points 3 days ago (1 children)

It's also fun to refer to them accurately as "tools designed specifically for killing."

[–] Jankatarch@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

"Specifically for killing humans."

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

No, not necessarily. But it's interesting how almost everyone adds that mentally.

[–] FordBeeblebrox@lemmy.world 31 points 3 days ago

Died in a school shooting while trying to blame all gun violence on gangs…he done fucked around and both sides of his neck found out

[–] MuskyMelon@lemmy.world 19 points 3 days ago

Killed by a straight, non-trans and white man on a school campus. In a way, that met all his conditions.

[–] scrubbles@poptalk.scrubbles.tech 30 points 3 days ago (1 children)
[–] Sgt_choke_n_stroke@lemmy.world 25 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Sorry you're right it still is an open carry campus.

Well why would an event like this need to change that?

[–] MapleEngineer@lemmy.world 25 points 3 days ago (2 children)
[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

With possibly the whitest name ever.

Stupid white state

Super conservative campus

Open carry campus

Super red state

Gets taken out by a Super groyper

Super white Mormon guy

Raised by Super conservative parents

Every detail is more and more ironic and I literally don't feel bad for him

Great Halloween costume

[–] Randelung@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

The guy allegedly getting shot for not being extreme enough is a whole different can of worms.

[–] Signtist@bookwyr.me 13 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Except he was shot for not being disparaging enough to immigrants, women, and black folks.

[–] zarkanian@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 days ago

Do we know that? I think it's still too early to establish a motive. Unless something new came out that I'm not aware of.

[–] TheReturnOfPEB@reddthat.com 8 points 3 days ago (1 children)

the maga revolution now has their Robespierre

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 3 days ago

too bad without the 'head detachment syndrome"

[–] BenLeMan@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

TIL Kirk's neck was one of the whitest places on earth. And he would have loved to hear that.
