Strong Bad's career as a hand model was short, but burned brightly.

That ad bought him a few months worth of bacon

These were cutting edge graphics for a handheld back in the day. Before that you just had blinking red dots.

The boxers actually look like boxers here. The realism must have blown their minds stepping up from this!

Oh shit! I had that game! Got one Christmas Forgot all about it. It was fun for all of 20 minutes then I didn't touch it much after that.

LOL, I played mine incessantly. But I'm not very bright.

Found one at the thrift the other day, just couldn't drop $30 for it.

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

What the fuck, what makes them think it worth 30 dollars? Think they were 10 dollars new back in the day.

Nintendo's Game and Watch came out in 1980.

Pretty sure LCD games had been around long before 1986.

Oh yeah there where a ton. They were all neat but pretty much unplayable after a time. I had a Ninja Turtles one I remember. Forget the name of the company but it started with a T, Teco something.

Might it have been the big chunky green Turtles LCD handheld from Konami that it seemed everyone (but me) had back then?

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

Yeah that probably it. Don't remember much on the game play just know I had it. Because I had every Ninja Turtle toys, clothes you nane it.

If my mom crack head boyfriend hadn't sold them it be worth thousands upon thousands now. (Mother claim she lost it all in storage)

I know bullshit because we had oak furniture that worth more then the car she drove. It was the furniture she got when she divorced my dad and we had for years.

I'm still pretty salty about it.

I assume the miracles have continued to this day with Casio, where miracles never cease? It’s in an ad, it must be true.

I wonder what maths teachers had to say about this back then?

[–] spongebue@lemmy.world 4 points 5 days ago

This is what the rich, cool uncle with no kids would give for Christmas so the kid had something to do in school
