TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name
/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!
Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.
~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.
~ 3. Use spoiler tags.
Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.
~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.
~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.
~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'
~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.
Fun will now commence.

It's a Cardassian made station; what do the Cardassians do without their own Miles O'Brien? 🤔
let it be eaten by voles
They produced the necessary suffering with Bajoran slaves. Not as efficient as Miles so they had to get a lot of them
Why go to the trouble of draining all 12 slaves in the case when you can just take one shot of Keiko
Part of the problem was the attempted merging of Cardassian and Federation technology, which likely complicated everything. But I like to think there was a "Miles O'Brien" running around Empok Nor, kind of like: That one Klingon who was super into science
In an episode of Enterprise there was a Klingon lawyer who talked about the honor of law and finding the truth. I'm sure you could definitely have a respected Klingon scientist character and still make it sound Klingony with the right motivation. "To best the mysteries of nature and discover the true nature of reality is an honorable calling" or something like that.
The Lower Decks/SNW crossover references a similar thing with Orions. Everyone assumes they’re all pirates and scoffs at the idea of an Orion science vessel until Tendi says “well somebody had to build all the starships!”
Dude even remarked that Klingon culture was previously less focused on combat/conquest.
Seeing only the thumbnail at first I was sure that lynchpin piece was going to be "the plot of babylon 5"
Im only just now watching it all the way through (caught it frequently on air growing up) and this is even true in S1
Also please tell me Sisko gets better because man he's just... all over the place
The beard. Once the hair goes away and the facial hair comes in shits off the chain.
Keep at it. Ds9 is the best trek.
Also obligatory worf mention.
He does get better as time goes on. In Season 1, his wife just died, and he got dumped in some back-woods station, and is super depressed.
Also, the actors jive better as time goes on.
After a while, you also just sort of accept that Avery Books acts how he acts and that this means Sisko is how he is.
“Stylized,” I think the kids call it.
Avery Brooks is The Sisko, and The Sisko is Avery Brooks
No spoilers, so don’t worry.
All of the characters get better as the show progresses. Something for you to look forward to is the entire episode dedicated to Miles’ suffering. You’ll know not when you see it. That’s all I will say in the matter.
