The trans partner of Tyler Robinson had no knowledge about it and was told to delete messages but didn't and instead turned them immediately over to the police and cooperated. Yet, the right is demonizing her and blame everything on trans people despite the trans person here doing the right thing.

I mean, absolutely worst boyfriend imaginable. I can't imagine a partner doing something like that and then dropping that news on me. It was beyond selfish and disgusting. He not only ruined his own life and took another's, he ruined his partner's life as well. She'll never have a normal life again.

The right are going to paint this as some result of radicalization and the fault of trans people but this was a cis white man and trans people had nothing to do with it. The partner was a helpless bystander in all this and when confronted with the truth, did the right thing and called the police.

You can tell the right believes she's actually a woman because they're blaming her for the actions of a man.

Did these messages come from the same fascist governor and FBI that lied about the fake bullet engravings?

If so then it isn't valid

[–] ChonkyOwlbear@lemmy.world 4 points 4 hours ago

I have to admit my first reaction is hell no, don't talk to cops. Don't snitch. Don't give them any evidence. In this case though I understand it because she's probably going to need to be in witness protection to keep her safe from right wing extremists coming to kill her.

[–] fox2263@lemmy.world 12 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

That’s if you believe the supposed messages. And that they’re even an item.

[–] Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works 2 points 7 hours ago

Those messages back up my time traveller theory more than anything.

On the one hand, YES YES YES.

On the other hand, it's so much more than that. SO many people were painting this as trans motivated violence BEFORE there was even a credible suspect in custody. Literally even before they found out he was dead, there were large numbers of people online saying this was due pro-trans terrorism.

I do not believe any of the rest of those points will mean a thing to the average MAGA conservative, based on my experience. In the most literal sense possible, most absolutely do not understand the difference between a trans person and drag queens. They honestly and fully believe that trans people are perverts patrolling public bathrooms to rape women and children. Trans-men practically do not exist, nor do intersex, nor any other atypical physical, genetic, gender, or sex presentation.

Ok, that last tweet made me bellow laugh, because it's so true: "You can tell the right believes she's actually a woman because they're blaming her for the actions of a man.". I mean it's tragic, but it's also insane how in searching for the scape goat it always comes down to either a minority or a woman. And in this case both.

[–] AnarchistArtificer@slrpnk.net 4 points 5 hours ago

It reminds me of a friend who was doing a PhD involving some weird, new kind of lasers. Catching up with her one time, she said "Well, men have started explaining my own research to me, so I guess that means I pass ¯_(ツ)_/¯ ".

My response was "Congratulations? Also, F."

For those, like me, who haven't seen these texts

Robinson: drop what you are doing, look under my keyboard.
[When the roommate looked under the keyboard, there was a note that allegedly read: "I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I'm going to take it."]

Roommate: "What?????????????? You're joking, right????
Robinson: I am still ok my love, but am stuck in orem for a little while longer yet. Shouldn't be long until I can come home, but I gotta grab my rifle still. To be honest I had hoped to keep this secret till I died of old age. I am sorry to involve you.

Roommate: you weren't the one who did it right????

Robinson: I am, I'm sorry

Roommate: I thought they caught the person?

Robinson: no, they grabbed some crazy old dude, then interrogated someone in similar clothing. I had planned to grab my rifle from my drop point shortly after, but most of that side of town got locked down. Its quiet, almost enough to get out, but theres one vehicle lingering.

Roommate: Why?

Robinson: Why did I do it?

Roommate: Yeah

Robinson: I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can't be negotiated out.

Robinson: If I am able to grab my rifle unseen, I will have left no evidence. Going to attempt to retrieve it again, hopefully they have moved on. I haven't seen anything about them finding it.

Roommate: How long have you been planning this?

Robinson: a bit over a week I believe. I can get close to it but there is a squad car parked right by it. I think they already swept that spot, but I don't wanna chance it

Robinson: I'm wishing I had circled back and grabbed it as soon as I got to my vehicle.... I'm worried what my old man would do if I didn't bring back grandpas rifle ... idek if it had a serial number, but it wouldn't trace to me. I worry about prints I had to leave it in a bush where I changed outfits. didn't have the ability or time to bring it with.... I might have to abandon it and hope they don't find prints. how the [expletive] will I explain losing it to my old man....

only thing I left was the rifle wrapped in a towel....

remember how I was engraving bullets? The [expletive] messages are mostly a big meme, if I see "notices bulge uwu" on fox new I might have a stroke alright im gonna have to leave it, that really [expletive] sucks.... judging from today I'd say grandpas gun does just fine idk. I think that was a $2k scope;-;

Robinson: delete this exchange

Robinson: my dad wants photos of the rifle ... he says grandpa wants to know who has what, the feds released a photo of the rifle, and it is very unique. Hes calling me rn, not answering.

Robinson: since trump got into office [my dad] has been pretty diehard maga.

Robinson: Im gonna turn myself in willingly, one of my neighbors here is a deputy for the sheriff.

Robinson: you are all I worry about love

Roommate: I'm much more worried about you

Robinson: don't talk to the media please. don't take any interviews or make any comments. ... if any police ask you questions ask for a lawyer and stay silent

I still feel like this is just made up nonsense. Not because it isn't true or anything.

But cause, who the fuck talks like that. This reads like a fanfic a 13 year old wrote.

It's like uncanny valley.

[–] kazerniel@lemmy.world 47 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It's such a bizarre decision to censor out "fuck"-s. Who's going to read about a murder but get offended by some swearwords?

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 33 points 23 hours ago (3 children)

Dumbfuck Americans. Just like always.

Yes those totally weren't fabricated at all

[–] Whostosay@sh.itjust.works 92 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Remember that time we incriminated ourselves over text while on the run, my love?

Who is buying this?

[–] zammy95@lemmy.world 68 points 1 day ago (2 children)

"I planned on taking this to the grave"

Leaves a note of admission

[–] Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works 5 points 7 hours ago

Not to mention he gives a play by play of events he wouldnt have been present for because he was supposed to be escaping off the roof during that time.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 4 points 9 hours ago

this totally reads like "i am running from the police. going to take a nap in a pile of crack with some guns. call me" which granted sounds like a few people i knew but at the same time

i won't lie that looks fake as fuck

[–] JusticeForPorygon@lemmy.blahaj.zone 53 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (3 children)

Okay now I'm confused was the roommate trans or not because I was under the impression that was a hoax.

Either way I do think these text messages are fake as fuck. They read just like something Kash Patel thinks a leftist would say

[–] Juice@midwest.social 1 points 4 hours ago

Gender is fluid and they are in Utah. Trans or not-trans is often a matter of time, experimentation, experience. Some people stay non binary for a long time, some people transition to a degree but then still identify as non binary, some people are closeted, it isn't real clear.

Its not important whether the roomate was trans or not, but there are good reports of a relationship, as it was verified by friends of Robinson's who shared info with Ken Klippenstein

[–] florencia@lemmy.blahaj.zone 30 points 1 day ago

Wikipedia allowed the statement: Investigators interviewed Robinson's roommate, who was reported to be transgender and in a romantic relationship with Robinson.

Which are sourced from NBC and New York Times.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_Charlie_Kirk#Investigation

But also evidence doesn't matter to Republicans regardless.

I don't for one second believe those are real texts.

FAKE NEWS/SATIRE

Kash Patel's FBI keeps finding messages that undeniably PROVE the shooter was a 22yo leftist gamer with a trans roommate.

This is great. Not too far off.

[–] florencia@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

These are obviously fake and edited. Everyone knows he had an MS-13 connection too that's being suppressed. /s

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 4 points 9 hours ago

that's just from eating too much venezuelan food you know they put ms-13 in it to make it taste good

The word choice and sentence structure in some of his messages sounded like some Great Depression-era literature prose.

And then a note hidden under his keyboard that they supposedly have a picture of? The same place where boomers keep their passwords? I'm not buying that.

[–] Cethin@lemmy.zip 11 points 22 hours ago

Yeah, for someone seemingly terminally online, surely it would have been digital at least, right? It seems like someone made it up based on their experience, without thinking about what this person would have done.

I'd sooner believe that Robinson fabricated those texts and that note to take the fall for the partner doing the shooting than believe those are real texts. To be clear, I don't believe that at all either. Fucking Kash Patel could tell me grass was green and I'd go out and fucking check. They way too conveniently answer magically every investigative question they could possibly have.

[–] Flickerby@lemmy.zip 38 points 1 day ago (3 children)

If I were her I would've tried to disappear off the face of the earth. The amount of courage it must've taken to come forward despite knowing what would happen...THAT'S some real shit right there

[–] Jessica@discuss.tchncs.de 28 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

The correct response was to listen to the shooter. You should never ever talk to the police under any circumstances because they will crucify you. She has a good chance of going to prison as an accomplice by speaking to them. They can either catch her in a lie about something mundane or they can forget or misrepresent questions they asked in court to make her responses look bad.

Here's a great talk from a lawyer and a cop about why you should never ever get interviewed by police: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-7o9xYp7eE

[–] themeatbridge@lemmy.world 29 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Right, she's been doxxed and targeted. She does not have many choices moving forward.

[–] LadyButterfly@reddthat.com 20 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I just hope she was out about her trans status anyway. If that's been outed on top of everything else, that would be excruciatingly painful

[–] themeatbridge@lemmy.world 8 points 19 hours ago

I hadn't even considered that. Oof.

[–] TheBat@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago

tried to disappear off

I think that would've made the situation worse for her. She probably would've been considered an accomplice evading justice.

[–] arsCynic@lemmy.ml 15 points 1 day ago* (last edited 22 hours ago)

Perhaps neither here nor there, but there are in fact worse boyfriends imaginable:

  • Donald Trump
  • Jeffrey Dahmer
  • Benjamin Netanyahu
  • Saddam Hussein
  • Mao Zedong
  • Dnepropetrovsk maniacs
  • Heinrich Himmler
  • Anders Behring Breivik
  • Vladimir Putin
  • Leopold II of Belgium
  • Et cetera.

To lump the cognitively incompetent moral sinkhole Donald Trump among these approximate manifestations of pure evil might seem silly, but those who have ever been bullied will know why, especially considering this dunce does it on an international level without accountability.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I have no idea wtf is going on

[–] florencia@lemmy.blahaj.zone 45 points 1 day ago (1 children)

MAGA needs the Charlie Kirk shooter to be trans illegal college immigrant. Since he was a cis white trades apprentice guy from a conservative family, they've pivot to him being indoctrinated by his trans roommate.

[–] Battle_Masker@lemmy.blahaj.zone 28 points 1 day ago (1 children)

A Cis white trades apprentice guy from a conservative family who has a history of listening to Nick Fuentes, a right-wing podcast dude who called for political violence toward the left, and has even chastised both Charlie kirk and Donald Trump

[–] otter@lemmy.ca 18 points 1 day ago (3 children)

who has a history of listening to Nick Fuentes

Would you have a source where I can read about that? I haven't been able to keep up with all the news

[–] magic_lobster_party@fedia.io 14 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I’m pretty sure no source has confirmed he’s a Groyper. It’s just speculations.

All we know is that the shooter wasn’t particularly political.

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 9 points 1 day ago

The shooter's mom said he leaned left into the extremism of thinking gay and trans people deserve to have rights. Absolutely no other examples of leaning left, just that one thing.

[–] buddascrayon@lemmy.world 2 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

The comment right above you says otherwise. With a link to a source. What do you have other than intuition?

[–] magic_lobster_party@fedia.io 3 points 15 hours ago

That article doesn’t point to any specific. Citing the article:

On his Discord and social media accounts, Robinson shared Groyper memes, labeled Kirk a “Zionist sellout,” and praised Fuentes’ “purity tests” for conservatism.

This could be the most concrete evidence. The question is, what memes did he share? What were the texts showing he praised ”purity tests”? There’s nothing in the article, and I haven’t seen anything surface since.

Recovered rifle casings had chilling inscriptions like “Hey fascist! Catch!” and references to internet memes rooted in alt-right culture. Some even referenced the leftist anthem “Bella Ciao”—used ironically by the far-right online.

The link between the inscriptions and the Groyper movement weak. Liking Helldivers 2 doesn’t make you a Groyper.

To me, this sounds more like the typical fashion of old people not understanding young people internet culture, and attribute anything they don’t understand to the alt right.

The rest of the article is just explaining the Groyper movement.

[–] chuckleslord@lemmy.world 4 points 19 hours ago

That link is kind of suspicious. I don't know how much faith you can put into it.

Propaganda exists and just having a link doesn't mean you're right.

In Groyper’s defense, Charlie Kirk, the 13th disciple of crucified Christ, wasn't Valhalla enough to date a Valkyrie who transitions for the greater good.
