While Carr complained that Democrats interpreted his comments as a threat to Disney, he didn't mention that his comments were also interpreted as a threat by several prominent Senate Republicans. Disney suspended Kimmel's show last week after Carr said ABC affiliates could have licenses revoked for "news distortion," but reinstated Kimmel yesterday after facing backlash from the public. Kimmel will be back on the air on many ABC-affiliated stations, but not those run by Nexstar and Sinclair, which have replaced Jimmy Kimmel Live! with news and other programming.

These people don’t even have the congruence to recognize their own actions. It’s always blaming others and shameless lying. I truly despise politicians.

Don't forget to include the right wing media like OAN and Faux.

Come here to say this. Nothing like the feeling of gaslighting in the morning.

Sinclair directly referenced him in their statement.

[–] GuyFawkes@midwest.social 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

So now that it’s been cleared up Sinclair can go ahead and stop their bullshit, right?

When he said "We can do this the easy way or the hard way," there's a reason why it sounded like a classic threat. Because it is.

Lots of people are really stupid, but they aren't so stupid that they don't recognize this as a threat.

[–] GuyFawkes@midwest.social 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

MAGA would like to have a word with you about their stupidity.

[–] logicbomb@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

It's such a transparent threat that instead of blaming stupidity for that, I'd blame cognitive dissonance.

Lies are part of a Nazi governments program. One could even call them a foundation of said government.

[–] ech@lemmy.ca 22 points 2 weeks ago

Threatened them, bragged about it, then threatened others. What a slimy piece of shit.

The hairy egg recants reluctantly.

Another flip flopper trying to convince everyone that they are not a shitty person by lying. Its lying to us but to them its just making your own reality.

Big talk when Trump is behind you. Small talk when he isn't. These wafflers are the worst.

Colbert's FCC bit last night was pretty great.
