Donald Trump Jr. recently claimed that his father, Donald Trump, was eyeing Tucker Carlson as a possible 2024 vice president pick, RadarOnline.com has learned.

In a surprising development to come after ex-President Trump won the Iowa Caucus in a landslide victory on Monday night, Don Jr. appeared on Newsmax to discuss potential running mates for his father for the general election later this year.

Yes, I know this is a POS news source. It does seem to be on-brand for the entire trump family, though.

And the GOP voters will conveniently ignore the texts and emails where Tucker hated Trump and was embarrassed by him.

[-] DogPeePoo@lemm.ee 41 points 10 months ago

A marriage of Russian assets

[-] OldWoodFrame@lemm.ee 26 points 10 months ago

Jr is just trying to help Tucker remain relevant there's just zero chance this happens.

The veepstakes chatter has all been on women, mostly Kristi Noem the governor of South Dakota, Sarah Huckabee Sanders who is now governor of Arkansas somehow or Elise Stefanik a random NY congresswoman who has been sucking up to Trump for a long time.

Nah. Lindell is broke and out of money. Trump doesn't like broke bitches.

I’m not going to say the word I’m assuming for the removed substitution, but I will say that the Glee cover of Gold Digger was the most uncomfortable scene in the entire series.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

The majority of people in that scene were white. Yikes.

[-] SatanicNotMessianic@lemmy.ml 4 points 10 months ago

It was just so painful. I have no idea what they were thinking.

[-] ThePantser@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

Lumpy Pillow guy?

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 21 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

I would love to see that happen

Oh me too. So much me too. Biden win by a landslide.

[-] NounsAndWords@lemmy.world 49 points 10 months ago

You have more confidence in the American voters than I've had since 2016.

[-] cmbabul@lemmy.world 23 points 10 months ago

This is where I’m at, I’m voting for Biden obviously but all the folks that are super confident he’s gonna win confuse the hell out of me.

[-] assembly@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago

Yeah this combination terrifies me. Both of these dipshits have a lot of overlapping supporters but not all of them overlap and the supporters of both tend to be extremists that will be motivated go out and vote and then do terrible things if they don’t win.

"Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that." - George Carlin

[-] Bluefalcon@discuss.tchncs.de 12 points 10 months ago

Don't underestimate how many 50+ people vote.

[-] IDontHavePantsOn@lemm.ee 19 points 10 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

He sees Carlson as weak and easily influenced. Carlson isnt stupid. Carlson has been typecast as an outsider. Carlson has been on a lot of JRE & friends podcasts which have a stronghold in modern media that caters to young men, conspiracy theorists, and GOP boot lickers.

I think Bow Tie Tuck is a better pick than many realize.

[-] detalferous@lemm.ee 14 points 9 months ago

Great analysis.

It's so sunny they see him as an outsider. He's the heir to the Tyson fortune. A nepotistic success story straight from the trump playbook.

[-] jordanlund@lemmy.world 16 points 10 months ago

Tucker would never do it because he would have to give up his show.

[-] Neato@ttrpg.network 11 points 10 months ago

The one no one watches on Newsmax? I'm sure he'd be heartbroken. He'd have to fall back on his TV Dinner heir fortune.

Current US life expectancy 79.25. Trump is currently 77…

[-] theonyltruemupf@feddit.de 21 points 9 months ago

The life expectancy for 77 year olds is higher than 79 and the life expectancy of rich fucks is also higher than the average population. Don't count on him dying anytime soon.

[-] Oaksey@lemmy.world 5 points 9 months ago
[-] Everythingispenguins@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

Life expectancy as just a single number is a pretty useless static. It says almost nothing about any single individual. First off usually when not specified a single LE number is a life expectancy at birth. So that 79.25 years is likely for a baby born this year in the US.

Second and more importantly as you age your life expectancy goes up. Basically you have out lived every one who has died and dragged the average down. At 77 you are expected to have 9 more years of life. It is not until you are 111 that you are more likely to die this year than not.

Statistics are a funny thing

[-] FlowVoid@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago

It is not until you are 111 that you are more likely to die this year than not.

No, that starts at age 106 as shown by the first column in your link.

Statistics really are a funny thing.

[-] Everythingispenguins@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

Are you sure? The first column is just real age. At age 106 it says that life expectancy is 1.36 years. If I am reading this wrong please tell me.

[-] FlowVoid@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

It's the column adjacent to age, labeled "death probability". It surpasses 0.5 at 106 for men, 107 for women.

Life expectancy doesn't tell you this probability. Imagine you had ten 106 year olds. Five die this year, two die next year, one dies after two years, one dies after three years, and one dies after four years. One year survival probability is 0.5, but life expectancy is greater than 1 year.

[-] Everythingispenguins@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago

Yep yep got you now

[-] Serinus@lemmy.world 6 points 9 months ago

He was criticizing Nikki Haley for not following security recommendations in the Capitol building during the January 6th coup attempt.

You know, governor Nikki Haley.

[-] hitmyspot@aussie.zone 9 points 10 months ago

He'd keep the show and use it to campaign. If he loses, he'd stay on, bitching and moaning (pae for the course), if he wins he leaves.

That applies to on-air broadcasters. Isn't his show on Twitter? I don't know that it would apply.

Also, since when have they given a shit?

[-] originalucifer@moist.catsweat.com 14 points 10 months ago

im torn whether this would hurt or not hurt considering no one should be on the fence between fascism and not-fascism

[-] DevCat@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago

What could possibly get more never-trumpers out to vote than this?

[-] GiddyGap@lemm.ee 9 points 10 months ago

A crazy-ass VP candidate for a crazy-ass presidential candidate. Makes sense.

[-] lickmygiggle@lemmy.world 7 points 9 months ago

Two candidates, 0 discernible jaw lines.

The toe-head ticket.

Team nepo-baby.

[-] taanegl@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

They're trying to promote eugenics and ethno nationalism... because if these two scrapes from the bottom of the genetic barrel get to come to power, I'm pretty sure people globally would instantly become pro-white genocide.

Fuck, I'd line up in front of the incinerator myself.

[-] Zerlyna@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

Ew. Just ew.

[-] LEDZeppelin@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

I can not imagine a more perfect candidate

[-] GilgameshCatBeard@lemmy.ca 5 points 10 months ago
[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 5 points 9 months ago

So, an overtly fascist ticket, then.

[-] NegativeInf@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago

Always was.

[-] morphballganon@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

Trump and Haley would do better in the general election than Trump and Carlson would, so sure, lower your chances.

[-] TheDeepState@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

Why? I don’t think picking Tucker moves the needle.

[-] ikidd@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

Do it so we end this fucking timeline sooner in a conflagration of nuclear fire, and make the horror stop.
