I bet there's a vegan somewhere breeding these en masse.
Actually vegans meme about this a fair bit.
I had no idea, that's really funny lol
en masse which means "in great number".
Thanks, I had to meet my quota of at least one dumb thing a day. Fixed!
Tick born diseases can be the weirdest and scariest shit. I
Ticks in general are weird, interesting, and also terrifying
Yup and the microorganisms that call them home are all kinds of weird too. Babeiosis is a lot like malaria in that its a microscopic eukaryote with really wacky parasite genetics because a long time ago its ancestors were probably just free-living little fellas, so their genomes are tiny and very silly.
Totes, I got babiosis, lyme, and alpha gal allergies from ticks and now I'm paranoid about them.
It seems like this is not only an issue for humans. The dog of our friends got an allergy against meat. Which, for a dog, is a serious problem. He can handle fish without issues, though, so he is the only piscitarian dog I know.
Dogs are omnivores, for anyone who thought differently.
Indeed they are. Which also implies that they need both kinds of food.
No it doesn't.
If you believe so, fine. I won't waste energy to teach you.
First thing I always think of when I read these stories. And really, every medical professional who responded to Amy's story with skepticism should be ashamed of themselves
I wonder if this is why I developed an allergy to beef in my 40s (fully tested, yes it's an allergy). I grew up on a cattle ranch!
they should turn their lights on
Mother Earth has her ways.
Is that why beef is the most nutritious food on the planet?
As does the US govt, need I remind of the Tuskegee experiments…
Oddly Terrifying
