Well, gambling is certainly a tried and true way to make a buck.

Except when your your name is Donald Trump and your father has to come to your casino to buy millions worth in chips to bail you out.

Back in the Facebook days around the turn of the decade, I knew a guy banking thousands weekly on fortune telling apps within Facebook. This was before Facebook started controlling what user data apps could see. He was selling user data to brokers and bragging to us in an Economics 101 class. Scammers will always find ways to suck the vulnerable dry.

It’s the ultimate form of capitalism and trickle up economics. Fits Xitter like a glove.

[Stefon voice] "San Francisco's hottest club is X. This 24/7 dumpster fire's got everything. Neo-nazis, degenerate gambling addicts, human Tesla coils. And is that Full House era Bob Saget doing stand up? No! It's a whiny drug addled billionaire from South Africa crying about advertisers being woke."

It's been awhile since I've seen a Stefon sketch. Thanks for the good memories

Finally the everything app can be seen on the horizon, can't wait!

I can't wait to also pay my escorts and drugs through the x-app (formerly known as twitter). But probably closer is X replacing onlyfans, as all onlyfans artists already spam twitter all the time.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Elon Musk’s X, formerly Twitter, has forged a deal with a sports betting operator, BetMGM, the companies announced on Friday.

Initially, X users in the U.S. will be able to explore the betting odds on pro football, with more professional and college sports to roll out over time.

We’re bringing sports fans on X even closer to the action so they can cheer, and now bet, on their favorite teams,” said X CEO Linda Yaccarino in a statement about the new deal.

His vision has expanded beyond social networking to see X becoming an “everything app,” so to speak, which includes not just text posts and media, but also creator content, subscriptions, live and recorded video, online shopping, payments and more.

Reached for comment, a rep for X didn’t offer details about if or how X would generate revenue from its new deal with BetMGM, but there’s likely an agreement in place, given the integration work required.

Late last year, big-name brands like Apple, Disney, IBM and others put their campaigns on pause after Musk endorsed an antisemitic post, for example.
