The redesign to end all redesigns.

This logo is way ahead of its time. The "new" one is so pretentious.

[-] ExploringLiterature@lemm.ee 5 points 1 year ago

This has got me curious though: Who designed all our government's OG logos?

[-] pints@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago

This + Department of Agriculture, DSWD, and DOST.

These logos were really good.

One of my kratky tomatoes died because I left it outside my overcrowded greenhouse. It filled up with rainwater and drowned 🙃

It didn't bear fruit anyways (none of my tomatoes have fruit so far - probably because of the heat, or I don't have the right nutrients), so it's not that big of a loss, but I should get a bigger greenhouse built.

Nagbalik loob na nga ako sa swimming pool dahil kailangan ko magpractice eh di ko naman kaya mag dagat everyday lol. Nainom ko agad yung tubig kasi walang lasa 💀 at least sa seawater maalat diba? Hahahaha

I got a few laps in, enough to be considered as a cardiovascular exercise. Honestly, the ocean is so much more fun. Sa pool there's nothing much to look at except the guy with a swimmer's body on the other lane. That guy swims. That stamina chef's kiss. 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ parang gusto ko manood ng Free! tuloy HAHAHA

Like, if I was in the ocean I don't even think I'd notice such stuff kasi iba yung focus ko. I'd be oohing and aahing at the corals, the fishes, the waves, the ocean floor, etc. Seriously.

[-] tahann@discuss.online 5 points 1 year ago

I wanna see a picture of that stamina ☺️

WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes will blow Hollywood businesses and studio productions. Damn it!

[-] theyawner@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

And for the right reasons. The only ones that could be negatively affected are the other support jobs related to Hollywood productions.

[-] ExploringLiterature@lemm.ee 6 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Writers should at least get a fair share of the residuals (iirc residuals are profits from streaming services). South Park, late night shows, Daily Show, Mad TV, and SNL are few examples of how huge an impact a good writing team can have on a show, and I'm still only talking about comedy.

Imagine all of your favorite series' going the route of GoT's last season. That's what will happen when you remove humanity out of the equation for writing a show. Though, tbf, the writers were still human, just were not perceptive enough at the consequences of rushing the storyline at the time of the last season.

I'm guessing all big production companies are going long on AI, thinking that although writing will be terrible, it will learn and improve in the future. At least, that is my (wild) speculation.

AI may be perfect but it ain't human, and human is just how I like my shows to be.

Dude, these protests affecting my ghostwriting. Current AI tools can't write and replicate emotions, man. Seeing the Apple TV's "Ghosted" is evidently clear that no one was writing. These corporates want to make their contents as cheap as possible and dump them into streaming services.

eyes on Netflix, Disney and Prime Video

[-] theyawner@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

Main argument nung sa writer's strike is that writers are not getting their rightful share of the profit. Moreso with the widespread plan to adopt AI to further reduce the perceived costs on hiring actual writers. Writers want AI out of the production. It's affecting you now, but it's going to make everything shitty in the next coming years if it's not opposed. That includes the need to hire ghost writers.

Sana all EU citizen.

The European Council has officially declared that all battery-powered equipment must have removable, easily-replaced batteries by 2027.

The regulation provides that by 2027 portable batteries incorporated into appliances should be removable and replaceable by the end-user, leaving sufficient time for operators to adapt the design of their products to this requirement. This is an important provision for consumers.

Fuck yeah EU.

Android Authority article can be found here.

Hope a similar bill gets passed here. I'd love to go back to the days where I can keep my phone for a bit longer by giving it a new battery. Limited na nga mga firmware updates e, at least let us have this. Also, mga Samsung users can sort of have their worries eased when faced with a swollen battery.

[-] MixedRaceHumanAI@lemm.ee 5 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Because EU, we cannot reverse some accidental Google Street View captures. Someone blurred my relatives' property at hirap ibenta hanggang ngayon. Outdated na Street View capture nila (2018 pa, at 5 years later dami ng pagbago sa paligid). Not all times EU is right, though. Google cannot reverse it (of course they can, but they will risk lobbying at EU, again).

A sideways, though, but okay...

I wish that replaceable batteries on smartphones make a comeback. Because of this, nagtagal ang first Android phone ko (Samsung Galaxy Mini) ng anim na taon. Phones with non-replaceable batteries forcing us to buy new one.

spoilerKasi may digital ID na sa phone ko. Two government-issued digital IDs are enough.

Gusto ko sumali dun sa mga doggie run marathon kaso wala akong dog. So my plan is manghihiram ako ng dog tapos hiramin ko na din yung owner chz.

Well, it's an idea 🤷‍♀️ I can't get a dog bc we already have enough cats ok. It's a cat-centric household.

Hey guys! Can anyone give me suggestions for an activity for a date? For some context we’re already in a relationship and I’m running out of an ideas for a date. 😅

[-] aiel_z@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Today’s Ask PHlemmy: What is something everyone wants to do or have, but you have no interest in?

[-] willnever_fadeaway@lemm.ee 9 points 1 year ago

Honestly speaking, employment. Working for money isn't something I envisioned doing, but seems to be a requirement in this dystopian capitalistic society. It takes away from my time, my happiness, and a lot more things. And the little money I get in exchange, I can't even get to do the things I want to do. It's all too depressing. Fuck everything and everyone who supports such a shit ass system. Sorry if people are offended by this, just needed a vent.

I've been using Globe@Home fixed wireless for my home internet since the height of the pandemic. It was serviceable, with bandwidth ranging from 5Mbps to 10Mbps. Enough for browsing, Youtube/Netflix, remote work, and the occasional large downloads.

But last night I got to test a 5G router with a DITO SIM and I was getting up to 600Mbps download in my area. I also tried my own Globe@Home SIM with the 5G router and surprisingly got a 5G signal as well, albeit at 40Mbps download.

Now I'm mulling if I should ditch the Globe account over a DITO account (with a plan that offers the same 5G router I tested) or if I should just go with my original plan to buy an open-line 5G router. I'm still leaning towards the latter, but there's not a lot of choices for a good 5G router and they're hella expensive.
