A ton also passed. A growing number are working their way through the courts. The "tide" has already made millions refugees in their own country. There is a long way to go on this, I'm afraid.

The most fucked up part about all of this, is it's just like the civil rights movement, and none of these bigots who are writing and passing these laws seem to notice...or they do and still wish they could ban mixed race marriages even...

Every moral panic dies in the end. Vegans will be the next target.

You’re vegan aren’t you

How can you be so depraved, what about children? Did you think about them?

You probably meant: No animal products, only babies!

I thought it was funny....to many people do not understand sarcasm around here.

[-] Emmie@lemm.ee 1 points 7 months ago

Do they? I wouldn’t really know I have scores turned off

[-] SupraMario@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago

Yea they down voted it into the negative for whatever reason...

[-] Emmie@lemm.ee 1 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

Well same mechanisms work here as on reddit. If something has -1 points it will just start to accumulate more negative points because of the brain shortcuts and probability

That's why I have them turned off to not influence my judgment if the comment is interesting or not while still benefitting from upvoting posts for visibility

The only con is that I don't see my scores which is a double edged sword because some may upvote/downvote and move on instead of discussing but that is also true with scores.

I am only here for valuable discussion really. Getting validation from points stopped being fun a while ago. I could just stick to hacker news I guess and maybe I should

Great way to look at it. The vote system is terrible, as you're absolutely right, so many people will just keep down voting a comment to pile on and not even read anything.

Thanks, vote system has pros and cons but I am soo tired of the cons.

or vegan furries!

[-] drmeanfeel@lemmy.world 5 points 7 months ago

They tried that a bit ago with Ted Cruz and the "taking our gas stoves and hamburgers" but it didn't have much sticking power. It will come around in full strength eventually though.

Republicans love their meat more than they hate transgender people.

I would love to siphon republicans hate away towards something else. As vegans can fight back hard and will come out on top. Transgender people need to protected at all costs.
