Mine do both.

What usually happens is one gets inside and the other decides to lay on top to ruin the party.

[-] tipicaldik@lemmy.world 54 points 7 months ago

I'm thinking the manufacturer doesn't understand how cats prefer to lay on them.

[-] Carighan@lemmy.world 6 points 7 months ago

Yeah was about to say, this seems like a supplier-side issue.

Just like how we humans insist on putting needless things into boxes, although it can be helpful to protect the all-important box during transport of course so it won't collapse!

They understand, they just don’t care.

[-] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 12 points 7 months ago

Same as when you call them.

[-] I_Fart_Glitter@lemmy.world 33 points 7 months ago

I think this is a valid option.

[-] Maeve@kbin.social 22 points 7 months ago

Maybe it's like getting hot and throwing off the cover.

[-] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 8 points 7 months ago

Gotta do the one-leg trick.

[-] Maeve@kbin.social 2 points 7 months ago

That too. We each have our own bag of tricks.

Don't want to destroy your view on this world, but you need to know the truth. Cats don't lay eggs.

I got my dog one because she loved being covered by blankets, and she did the same thing. And then insisted on having a blanket over her anyway. On the plus side, she loved the bed in her own way.

[-] Bakkoda@sh.itjust.works 19 points 7 months ago

You did not buy one cat bed, you bought two. Keep popping it up and occasionally they will go inside.

If cats love one thing more than everything else, it's doing whatever the fuck they feel like at any given moment. Options keep them engaged.

[-] Thunderdonk4444@lemmy.world 19 points 7 months ago

lol, my cats have the same beds and they do the exact same thing. We just leave them flat now, they won’t stay puffed more than an hour

The primary directive of the feline hivemind is to succeed in the most incorrect possible way.

[-] ozymandias117@lemmy.world 18 points 7 months ago

As long as they’re happy, it’s perfect

[-] MystikIncarnate@lemmy.ca 14 points 7 months ago

Looks correct to me boss.

[-] actionjbone@sh.itjust.works 11 points 7 months ago

Counterpoint: no, they're not.

[-] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 10 points 7 months ago

They understand you want them to.

[-] Today@lemmy.world 5 points 7 months ago

Mine do the same

[-] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 7 months ago

Same with mine.

There's a company that makes things like this that have a hard shell covered with felt (I think felt?); cats can be both inside, or on top. I'll have to see if I can ever find it again; it looked like the cats were quite pleased with that kind of design.
