Omg. I lost The Game.

I haven't lost The Game by thinking about The Game in at least 5 years.

OP is a diabolical genius.

it has been YEARS since I last lost the game. Fucking birds.

[-] Jimbo@yiffit.net 2 points 6 months ago

Fucking hell, it's been a while, but probably not that long for me

[-] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 16 points 6 months ago

Why is everything vibrating?

You can't just write "degrees kelvin" in a science community and expect a pedant not to come up, you know?

[-] fossilesque@mander.xyz 2 points 6 months ago

Sometimes I like to do a little trolling.

Industrial strength anthropic principle

[-] Xantar@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 6 months ago

Idk but it's unsettling.

God, "the game" generation is rapidly approaching the bird watching age.

Definitely a meme about science

Good science isn't just in a lab. Birdwatchers are some of the biggest contributors to citizen science. :)

If you would like to get involved with observing the world around you in a meaningful way for scientists (rewilding and conservation) and for the common good, download iNaturalist (phone app) and check out:

Things like eBird and iNaturalist have been pretty revolutionary for data collection and modelling and any and all data is valuable and will be used.

This has nothing to do with birdwatching. It's just a recycled, ever-tired "the game" meme.

[-] glimse@lemmy.world -3 points 6 months ago

Everything is science if you stretch the definition lol

This has become a catch-all meme community imo

[-] fossilesque@mander.xyz 3 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

That's the thing. Everything IS science. I'm here to get people talking about it. Artifically aesthetically boxing it is what drives people away from learning. Play is the mother of all education.

[-] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago

The Game is big time science. Pretty sure that the inventor won 4 Nobel prizes for it.

[-] HowManyNimons@lemmy.world 9 points 6 months ago

Well fuck that bird. Still, I only lost a couple of weeks' progress that time.

[-] helpImTrappedOnline@lemmy.world 9 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

I don't count loosing the game via a random meme. It misses the intent, to loose one must think of the game on their own. If you loose whenever someone randomly shouts all about it trying to force people to loose - thats just lame.

[-] rjthyen@lemm.ee 3 points 6 months ago

This one was subtle enough I'm counting it. Took me thirty seconds of not understanding the joke before suddenly realizing I lost

lol you sneaky fucker

[-] PostingPenguin@feddit.de 2 points 6 months ago

You MONSTER!!!!!

[-] Spaceinv8er@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 months ago

Goddamnit, now I have to find all the people that I haven't spoken to in over a decade and let them know I lost that game. Thanks, I really appreciate it.
