Shameful stuff, telling her to be mindful regarding policy violations and their (invisible) processes when speaking up about the issue.
Lack of support from chess GM in the states and specifically people who use to co-host or work with her, makes this more fucked up.
I am not saying they should not play anymore, but they could have at least issue statement of support and push for more transparency.
Especially when most of them have alternative sources of income.

It's a dark pattern (no pun intended) and I try to avoid sites that do this. If I still want to read the article I press the "Reader" button in Firefox that shows a text-only view of the article.
I think this article is worth reading.
