As a kid, I thought this was meant to test your sound system for the movie (aka lone CRT) and would blast it as loud as I could.

Mine are 5 and 3 and from what I gather from other parents, I have the most draconian rules of them all 😅. My kids watch very little TV...only a little before bed. They can start playing on their tablets for a bit before that, but they only have educational games (G-Compris and Khan Academy Kids, etc.) and a few other FOSS ones. I've tried teaching them to use a controller to play some SNES/N64 games on my Retropie with no luck...but according to my son's SK teacher, that's not such a bad thing. Just trying to avoid them turning into tech zombies as much as I can...they're pretty much living as close to the 90s upbringing I had as possible haha

The Ontario government has had a few initiatives to push smart thermostats and my area just had our water meters upgraded to smart ones. I know nothing about the water meters, but I block the Google telemetry from my Nest Thermostat (unrelated to the gov't program) via my pi-hole at least. By definition, if you sign on to the Enbridge thermostat initiative you are agreeing to send your usage. Not really sure of the impacts of this article on Canada, but pretty chilling nonetheless!

My mom bought a 50% off rotisserie chicken from Zehrs yesterday that looked shrivelled and disgusting...7 dollars after the half off 😳. Managed to convince her to join the boycott at least!

I pointed out the trackers that are included in this app for full transparency...not everyone likes having Google and Facebook on their phone. The inclusion of these trackers also hint that the app isn't open source, which was the initial question. I'm not sure any of this called for such an inflammatory response...

Sawyer tap filters remove 100% of microplastics (which I'm really hoping is legit!). They fit right on your tap and other than looking a bit funny work great. Just replaced my Brita filter with one a few weeks ago.

Really interesting point! Also, what about babies born via IVF that don't technically share a womb at the same time, but were from the same "batch" of sperm and eggs?

I think the point is that every media outlet during this crisis has forgotten that there was an update to their rather draconian first charter in 2017. Their leader stated the original was an embarrassment himself. They are apparently willing to compromise, but no one is listening.

Dragon Age: Origins. Haven't played since it's release and wanted something in the same vein as the original Baldur's Gate...does not disappoint!

No worries! Strange of them to put a deadline...I agree the hardware is pretty solid!
