Payment system failures is just pitiful.

This isn't GHGs, they're talking about like smog and particulate pollution, Sulfur Dioxide is what primarily caused acid rain, CO is toxic. We still won't peak GHG concentrations for a while, as that requires net zero emissions.

I don't know why you're getting downvoted. We need to do all the things at the same time. We need corporations to change their ways (which means boycotts, protest, and likely sabotage), we need governments to do their share (which means voting, protests, and general civic engagement at all levels), and we need consumers to accept that their lifestyles will have to change.

To actually make those changes to consumer behavior, we need good public policy decisions and for corporations to not obstruct things. Without good governmental policy, consumers will not be able to make those switches. Without consumer behavior changes and good governmental policy, corporations will kill any chance at change.

(I do think the framing could be better, but I don't think blaming the working class is a good description of what's happening.)

This sounds right, I feel like I get a lot of conflicting data on China, I just looked at Climate action tracker and they're expected to peak this year, which is technically 5 years ahead of their schedule.

I'm really hoping we see China peak within the next couple years on fossil, cause that's going to be one of the big turning points.

Honestly, not surprised. I wish we were meeting those goals, and its bad that we aren't, but the progress that's been made since they were set is noticeable, if not enough.

That's good. I really hope they have the social/political will to step it up like they need to.
