Yep. Turned down one rental many years ago due to too many flights of stairs and no lift - and being too poor to hire movers.

I got a good, thankful laugh when I watched the episode a couple of years back.

Kamikaze death cult.

I used to work for their brand in my country, and I would have to repackage and shrink wrap the game & booklets when we received new stock.

So yes, it is open but still new (assuming the store manager is honest).

I still didn't like the idea of doing this to games, but there weren't many jobs in my town and it sure beat working checkouts..

In Australia, the phone number is tied to the ISP, and she's with the biggest, worst one. We considered porting but the risk would be too great and she was too anxious about it.

Great work, thank you!

I have noticed that the new "undo" hide post is flakey - either it doesn't show, or more often, it won't go away even when jumping from Frontpage into a post's comment section.

"Refreshed" is also lingering around.

Otherwise, excellent job, keep it up!

I have seen too many pictures of literal poop eaters that I'm scared to look at Lemmy alone, let alone around family. 😭 Stop the poop!

ETA: ok it was maybe two pics and only in the first few weeks of the reddit migration, but I'm still scarred.

I was so ready to drop $10-15 AUD without a thought, but at $25, I'm sticking with Connect.

You can switch to use the external browser in the app settings, however, at time it affects everything - including images. Once that's fixed, I'll probably move back from Sync to Connect!

To be fair, we are on a beta version!

Overall, mine has been working fairly smoothly.

I'm still weighing up whether to continue using Connect though, for a few reasons.

It sounds so dated.

Uptown mall, I'll be shopping at the Uptown Mall.

Whoever's idea this was, any compensation they received was too much.

I think for some it is just easier - they don't need to get their nephew to build a janky website, or cut into their profit by having someone build a decent one.

The older blokes in particular probably aren't worried or even aware of the issues with Facebook. For them, it's just a place to share pics of their grandkids visiting and boomer memes etc.

Even with the younger crowd - when I move, which is every few years, I often find new hairdressers on Facebook; few bother with a website. They're already on there and it's a great way to show their work to a wide range of potential clients.

Almost no one is going to a website every few weeks to check out updates from their favourite artisans, but they will scroll through a social feed and often interact with the posts.

I'm pretty stupid and don't like reading big walls of text but I was able to work out the basics lying in bed with one eye open, and had started subbing to communities by the time I was having my first morning coffee.

Sure, I ended up changing my mind on instances a couple of times and now have a few dupe accounts, but I was good to go after about three days of playing around. And again, I'm stupid and easily distracted.

If other ex-redditors can't work it out, they're very welcome to stay where they are.
