After many hours of deliberation and a long tearful phonecall with my mother, I've decided to pass on the opportunity.
I like to just browse Wikipedia. It's an endless wealth of knowledge that never ceases to impress me. It's like the modern library of Alexandria.
I also make cocktails for fun, target shoot, fish, ride trails (not trials), make pens, collect knives, play skyrim, and i cook too.
I bounce between what i focus on often.
I swear to god I'll buy sync premium if they give the ability to sort by controversial. This is the stupidest more redditesque thread I've run into and i don't want to miss anymore.
Lemmy is great and all. Love it more then I ever did reddit. But it seems like instances are more politically polarized than your average subreddit. It kinda harshes my mellow.
I do like that people feel more genuine as opposed to just broken records repeating overused talking points.
Oh please! Mr stalker is my father, call me john.
We shouldn't let the government parent our kids. I know it's human nature to be lazy, but the government isn't the answer.
Not sure if anyone cares to know but i decided to go with stubbs bbq sauce. First i put on a dry rub of Pappys dry rub and cooked to 160 internal. Then i followed up with stubbs bbq sauce and finished at 170 degrees internal.
I didn't get down with the apple jim beam so i decided to do shots of Makers Mark cask bourbon. Might have a white claw and long Island iced tea later. Catch me on my plummet to rock bottom over on !cocktails.lemmyworld or occasionally! Cocktail.MidwestSocial
Unfortunately I think I might just have to go back to therapy because even bbqing doesn't cheer me up anymore.
Edit: the chicken has clashing flavors only fixed by getting blind drunk. Don't mix Pappys dry rub and stubbs bbq suace.
I was once held at gunpoint over a 6pack of crunch donuts. I caught a guy cutting catalytic converters out of cars, and he then proceeded to chase me with a Sawzall. I watched an elderly man get run over by his wife and as i was rendering first aid he died. A homeless man once took a boxcutter from a grocery store employee, held it to his neck and said "watch me die".
None of those were my worst day at work though. My worst day was a 16 hour shift where I had to sit in a cubicle, with no phone, tv, or ac. I was staring at a monitor showing a camera feed that was only showing a door. It was just me, alone, and bored and cold and miserable for 16 hours. I like to think that's what the CIA did to people in the 60's to mentally break them.
This is literally 1984. We shouldn't applaud when they propose a surveillance state
I'm a security officer. Reddit pissed me off with all the rules and I was looking for somewhere that the internet felt more like the good old days. Haven't found it yet but lemmy is like a breath of fresh air
I think a dollar would be ok.
Lol imagine not being able to picture things in your head. Oh wait...
