Reading the comments is both depressing and uplifting.

Depressing because so many people were in bad shape at some point but uplifting because so many got out and/or are on the way up. Congrats folks!

I never viewed myself as an addict although I have autism and have an obsessive streak = I like to form heavy routines that are not often healthy.

Gave up drinking entirely 6 yrs ago since I was in a bas situation and was drinking a beer every day and it started bothering me. I quit smoking hookah about 2 months ago but I still tell myself its a pause since thats easier for me. I did the same with alcohol.

„Taking a break“ is what worked for me since my mind can’t tell me that I wont make it since there is nothing to „make“. I‘m just taking a break (which now lasts 6 yrs in the case of alcohol). It could have something to do with demand avoidance which can be a problem for autistic people (and others?).

Thanks for reading my ramble and have a nice day.

That microsoft is allowed to buy one more company instead of being sliced up into smaller companies themselves is a sign that anti trust has not evolved a bit in the last decade.

Thats what I did already. I might just leave it at that then. Thanks for the suggestion though. :)

I was looking to buy a samsung ssd. Looks like i will shop elsewhere then.

Not that voting with your wallet does anything. The action samsung is taking here should be illegal.

They should be disowned. As should be everyone who made money from slavery, war profiteering, etc.

Oof. I feel you. I like cars and I hate when this happens.

I got another good example: I‘m in the market for a garden plot (I live in a city with no perspective on getting my own house soon).

There are waiting lists that are years if not decades long. All while gardens get sold/rented out behind the curtain and worst of all: abandoned ones rotting away or being used as scrap yards by companies (which should be illegal).

It just makes me so sad. We have so much stuff we could solve if you could just go to your local government rep and tell them to change this, state your reasons and watch it change.

What a fucking moron a politician has to be to allow addition of new fossil fueled energy sources, along with everyone who is supposed to supervise that process.

It’s just another sign of the sheer insanity this world is infected with.

Thats actually what I‘m gonna do at some point. Your instance needs to be exposed, right? No chance it would work behind a firewall without a tunnel?

But isn’t it quite the jump from mozilla accepting drm from a service in an indistry that has invented drm to them accepting a blanket drm for the web? I think it’s kind of not guilty until proven for mozilla. They have so far (to my knowledge) not done anything very anti consumer.

I agree. As an entrepreneur, I have exactly one time where I leave my comfort zone: if it benefits the people I care about, be it loved ones, friends, communities.

The big issue I see with companies these days is that they’re not trying hard enough to be fair: If you are willing to put in extra effort, I will put in extra effort myself. Companies can achieve that through money and other benefits or whatever the person favors.

We have come to accept that your boss makes a dollar while you make a penny (not even a dime).

I always tell people (even those who worked for me) that you put in as much effort as the other side does. Worked out well for us all.
