I'm trying to figure out how can I install a VPN on truenas that hides my IP. I have tailscale running so I can remotely access Nextcloud and manage it doesn't hide my IP. Wouldn't really throught on using it but my country recently published a law to lick Big Corpo in the ass better, the fines are pretty big so that's why I'm interested.

Can I install a commercial VPNs? Such as Proton VPN or Mulvad?
Thought on installing a VM with a qbitorent and VPN but I don't have enough RAM and I can't upgrade it right now.

Platform: Truenas-scale

So I recently put togheter a NAS and now I'm trying to learn to use it. I got a few questions if anyone can point me to some documentation or tutorial:

  • Can I set up more users to access the same SMB folder?
  • How to set up the current version of Jellyfin?
  • How to remote access Nextcloud?

If anyone runs into similar problems:

  • Jellyfin -> if kubernets gives "back off restarting ..." it most likely is a missconfiguration, what worked for me was enabling automatic permission to the folder with movies and music to 777 recursively (not secure but I haven't tried other permission yet
  • to access all apps: I just used tailscale and added in app configuration route 192.168.1.0/24 and now it works flawlessly

Thank you everyone for replies

I have tried modifying and regenerating fstab but it dosen't work. Also grub can't be accessed when I'm booted, nor does grub theme. How to I fix this?

Fixed by using grub.

Error when trying to boot into new install. ERROR: device ' ' not found. Skipping fsck. :: mounting ' ' on real root mount : /new_root: no valid filesystem type specified. ERROR: Failed to mount ' ' on real root And I'm getting dropped in emergency shell. I used official wiki, used refind as bootloader. Second time I tried installing and got same error.
Edit1: fstab
`#/dev/nvme0n1p2

p2 is root partition
p1 is efi partition.

Edit2: running timedatectl in chroot returns System has not been booted with systemd as init system (PID 1). Can't operate. Failed to connect to bus: Host is down

I have a laptop eith sata and a nvme drive. I installed a few operating systems and I decided on Mint for Sata. Installed it copied data from Nvme drive since I was using it as primary. I installed Nobara on nvme and it worked flawless until a few moments ago. Reboted and Mint is gone from boot options. Tried to add it but don't find it. Tried to boot into Nobara but it gets stuck on blank screen. Power button works but that's about it. No HDMI output. Recovery options dosen't work either. In Nobara live session I can see my Mint drive with all the partition and so is Nobara. Also I have for some reason option to boot into windows and Debian even tho when I installed I chose full drive.
