I was actually wondering how the gender gap changed in this election, and it wasn't at all what I was expecting:

According to exit polls by CNN Trump gained +2% of the male vote, and +5% of the female vote compared to 2020 - though women were still more likely to support Harris, of course.

An analysis by the AP found similar results, with the support from men under 45 increasing +7%, and women under 45 +6%, while for older men it decreased -1%, and for older women stayed the same.

Surprisingly, Trump's support among racial minority groups increased while white and older Americans increased support for Harris.

After thorough analysis and much thought I have ultimately concluded that I have absolutely no fucking clue what is going on with American politics.

There's also the problem that if the polls are crap, the results of the model will also be crap, regardless of how accurate the model is. It's similar to how publication bias affects meta-analyses. Several analysts have already argued that pollsters are unlikely to underestimate Trump again, and may in fact over-correct and underestimate Harris much like how they underestimated dems in 2022:

Despite what the law might say, there's no evidence whatsoever that letting trans people use their preferred bathroom causes any "injury or harm" to cis people.

To the contrary, there is evidence that restricting bathroom access is harmful to trans people - and cis people too, like Jay, a cis woman who was harassed in a bathroom after being mistaken for a trans person.

Damned if you do, and damned if you don't. The point of laws like this isn't to protect cis women and girls, it's just to cause as much suffering as possible, because that's all Republicans care about.

This guy also has a whole post on Substack complaining that the left is too wary of age gaps in relationships and that this is an "attack on heterosexuality" or whatever. It's kind of funny how these "anti woke" types will decry that queer people are all groomers and yet proclaim that age gaps and adults dating teenagers is part of heterosexual culture under the same breath.

An entertaining read that further cements Musk as an honest-to-god unhinged idiot. I've seen a lot of people speculate that him buying Twitter and tanking its value was some kind of genius plot, but the simpler explanation is that he's just unironically stupid and a bad businessman.

The fact that he has another burner account which he uses to get around blocks and hurl insults at others is both really funny and completely expected. I'm willing to bet a signed dollar that he has yet another alt that he uses to lean even further right and say the N-word on a regular basis.

I can't be the only one who thinks conservatives' constant whining about women being "too old to marry" is (for lack of a better term) really pedo coded, right? It's starting to sound like pattern...

Honestly I don't even really care that much that she's shoplifting, I find it hard to sympathize with a multi-billion-dollar company losing a small fraction of their profits.

But then she insists that she's not actually a shoplifter, and brags about her income and how she's a great person as if she's trying to separate herself from "the bad shoplifters", which gives me the same vibes as the article "The Only Moral Abortion is My Abortion".

The title looks like it's trying to imply that the thiefs specifically targeted her, when the article makes it more clear that they likely just tried to steal the car not knowing it was from the Secret Service.
