Strange. I think colons are the official way (as I'm just on default web lemm.ee,) so that might be something to contact your client's devs with.

FYI, spoilers don't work like Reddit (or at least not on my web client.) Try doing it the way Limfjorden did:

AnswerThree; one to hold the lightbulb and two to carry them while going in circles.

I don't know these guys, so I went and did some research, and it wasn't until I was neck deep in an article on a theory about them being the same person that it finished off saying that the Wikipedia page for Childish Gambino redirects to Donald Glover.

Nice one.

Can confirm. I pedest, and it's more useful for me to know how long it will take to get somewhere than how far away that somewhere is. One effects my time of departure, the other is just a fun fact.

To be fair, I'd be skeptical if you told me Andy Griffith was the father of 3D printing.

Though I'd google it instead of asking for evidence first.

The name of Six Grandfathers represents six ancestral deities of the Native Americans, personified as the six directions (cardinal + up and down.) The US and the Lakota Sioux were at war due to US expansion, but then they made a treaty in 1868 promising the Sioux exclusive use of the Black Hills and Six Grandfathers forever.

Of course, US history being what it is, they had another war in 1876, and seized the land in 1877, because of the gold rush. I couldn't find any mention of bounty hunters, but it was a war.

Mount Rushmore was named after Charles E. Rushmore, but it was named by his guide Bill Challis. Charles asked Bill what the mountain was called, and Bill said it didn't have a name, so he named it Mount Rushmore.

The monument at Mount Rushmore was inspired by a Confederate monument in Stone Mountain, Georgia. They got Gutzon Borglum, the same guy who made the other one, to be the sculptor for Mount Rushmore. Gutzon had ties to the KKK, who had funded the Stone Mountain monument, but wasn't technically a member himself.

The original plan for Mount Rushmore was made by Jonah LeRoy "Doane" Robinson, who wanted it to represent "not only the wild grandeur of its local geography but also the triumph of western civilization over that geography through its anthropomorphic representation." Ouch.

Interestingly, he didn't plan to use presidents initially, but instead Old West characters such as Lewis and Clark, Red Cloud, Sacagawea, John C. Fremont, and Crazy Horse. Gutzon shot that down and opted for presidents instead. So basically if it weren't for that guy, we could have had Native Americans on Mount Rushmore.

I couldn't find any evidence of KKK funding for Mount Rushmore, but it did receive private funding, so that's a possibility. Federal funding only game when Gutzon invited Calvin Coolidge to a dedication ceremony, at which he promised it.

So while the truth was almost as bad, this post isn't entirely accurate. You don't like it when the Republicans spread misinformation. Being a communist is no license to do the same.

Source: Wikipedia.

EDIT: After reading the article and Snopes page linked by ZombiFrancis...

  • President Grant did order the army not to protect the natives. There were orders that the Black Hills shouldn't be occupied, and he didn't rescind those orders, but he did order the army not to stop miners from going in anyways.
  • Bounty hunting was a thing, but there isn't much evidence to point to it being a thing during this war. Much less funded by the government, as they already had soldiers to kill the natives with.
  • Gutzon Borglum left the Stone Mountain project due to KKK infighting, and they weren't exactly happy to see him work on Mount Rushmore instead, so it's actually unlikely that they would have funded it - but still a possibility.

This guide is worthless. This guide is funny.

This guide is worthless, but it's funny.

The value in this worthless guide is in its comedy.

I couldn't find a good character sheet that's fully customizable without digging into complex formulas and reference tables, so I made my own. Feel free to use it or give feedback.

It's sad how many men don't have friends outside of family and dates.

If that's you, please get friends. If you don't know how, find a hobby where you're likely to interact with other people, and interact with them. Even if it's just smalltalk, that's a start.

Well, test as much as you like! I have no authority over you.

But I will observe and possibly meddle if I don't forget. Mark my words!

"I was just informed you weren't on the morning stand up call this morning" implies that this person wasn't there either.

There have been quite a few comments and posts arguing about political memes and whether they belong here. I'm not exactly in any position of authority, but hopefully I can do something about this.

Which option do y'all think is best?

  1. People who want to post political memes do so in !politicalmemes@lemmy.ca instead.
  2. People who don't want to see political memes subscribe to !memes@sopuli.xyz instead, which doesn't allow politics.
  3. Nothing changes.

I'm not asking for a rule to be made, I'm just asking for the general consensus. I'm hoping that this will help to raise awareness of those other communities, so that if people favor option 1, more political meme posters can move there, and if people favor option 2, more people who don't want politics can move there. And then I can also know whether to keep watching this community or move.

(Please don't downvote this post for complaining about political memes, because if it gets seen, it tells the complainers where they can go to avoid political memes, and then they'll be out of your hair.)

Howdy all! Some of my friends and I have been doing some planning for a Sonic themed platform fighter. We're still in the planning phase, because I want to make sure I can form a team before moving forward with development.

That said, if it interests you, why don't you come join our Discord server? We can discuss plans, and perhaps you could even join our team. We're particularly looking for people who can help make the animations. We have one guy for that already, but many hands make light work.

I'm planning on taking care of the programming, by the way.

Click to join the Discord.

I was looking around to see if there were any good Sonic fangames in the platform fighter genre, a la Super Smash Bros. I found a few traditional fighters, but I much prefer the simpler controls of platform fighters.

Anyone know of any they can recommend? If not, I might look into making my own. Not sure yet.

Spoiler - Doc season 9 episode 54When I saw he was playing with dragon eggs, I though he was going to do something simple, like make a contraption that repeatedly drops an egg to softlock Grian, so he'd have to get someone else to help him remove it.

But I guess things are never going to be so small-scale with Doc. I'm really looking forward to see how the others react.

Remember: Don't do this to your friends (unless they have a Grian skin,) and always have backup gear in case of an accident.
