Always online, live service, Denuvo, and characters that are not remotely faithful to their source material abilities...?

Hard pass four times over.

Maybe we'll get lucky and Gaben will leave ownership of the company collectively to it's employees.

With the increasing popularity of these different form factors and device types, it seems like people are finally starting to realize just how horrible Windows is… especially for gaming.

You are thinking of beef. The Rich are full of bacteria and parasites and should be thoroughly cooked before consuming.

It's just shorthand for "unauthorized access to a digital system". There could be no password at all and it would still count as "hacking". The difficulty of gaining access isn't really relevant, legally speaking.

Because they realize that a huge number of their customers are small indies, and they want to be able to squeeze them - the majority of their customer base - not just the minority of big companies (who are also the most likely to fight back legally).

Just look at how their scheme squeezes smaller, poorer developers way more than big ones. If Unity went by points like, say Epic does with Unreal, they could shake down the big developers… but wouldn’t get much out of the indies.

I haven’t been back. I also blocked it on PiHole and Kagi, so they don’t even show up in my search results. Reddit is dead to me.

Unity "Vadering the deal" is enough reason that no business should choose Unity for anything whatsoever going forward. They are now a huge legal and financial risk to any business endeavor at all.

No matter how much they relent, developers should not get complacent and trust that things will stay this way. Unity will go back on the offense once the outrage quiets down a little. Don't do it. Transition now before you end up in a worse situation.

I’m not sure age is the problem. It’s greed and corruption.

I would also require anyone RUNNING for an elected office to divest themselves completely of all investments and business ties. Everyone running would get the same campaign funding and that is all they are allowed to use. For anyone elected, base pay would be significantly increased. This would naturally allow more younger candidates to both run and be elected, since you don’t have to be a corrupt, wealthy, ancient subhuman to fund a campaign.

I’m with you on the term limits, too.

Do not use any Chromium based browser. Full stop.

  • If you are on Mac, I recommend Orion (Webkit based, but Mac only ATM).
  • For every other platform, including Linux, Firefox.

Honestly, Google has gotten so aggressively evil I'd strongly recommend cutting yourself off from all their products entirely. Consider Kagi instead of Google search and Proton instead of GMail. Other offerings also have alternatives that won't spy on you, steal your information, or treat you like both a criminal and a product instead of a customer.

At this point, even if they backpedaled completely - even if they fired spez - it's far too little and far too late. Third party apps are gone. The trust is gone. Folks like me deleted their content and their accounts. There is no going back.
