"Eh, my next salary is coming soon"

Here in Costa Rica we have plenty of those:

  • El Cadejos (the chain-hound): a black dog wrapped in chains, said to appear in the night to scare drunkards straight, and allegedly a former drunkard itself.
  • La Segua (or La Cegua): a woman that seduces men at night, then shows her true form as a human with the head of a horse, an event which is said to scare men to death.
  • La Llorona (the crying lady): a woman who lost her child, by drowning in a river in several sources, and cries loudly for that during the night.

To think that it takes several thousands of dollars of equipment, for humans to imitate the mere residues of what any animal can do on the regular!

My socially isolated self rarely if ever needs to take a single picture. I'm doing perfectly fine with the base camera that my old devices came with.

In the meanwhile, my YunoHost based instance that still hasn't managed to make Pict-RS work and therefore can't even store images even if it wanted to is doing juuuuust fine

It's hilarious to see that the original face of "change my mind" was, in fact, not willing to change his mind

Wondering if his test was eventually retracted from legal usage?

And that, people, is why I haven't watched a TV series in almost a decade

Welcome to !outoftheloop@lemmy.world, an "amogus" is the fan nickname given to the Impostors, the main enemy in the social deduction game Among Us

It depends on how privacy-conscious does Automattic (the current owners of Tumblr and Wordpress) decide to make Tumblr. If they actually make good in their offer to open-source Tumblr though, you can expect people to federate with no issues with both Tumblr and other "Tumblr nodes" as well.

Not gonna lie, the article is right in the sense that the Fediverse is still rough on the edges. Hopefully the fact that everyone and their parents had to move out of most social media will make organizations reconsider investing government money into making them better.

And of course, all of the above installed via Homebrew for extra recursion
