I think it's just a joke.

I used to work next to small commercial bakery, and they would give us stuff from time to time if it was near the sell-by date and they hadn't scheduled a shipment.

One day they gave us some of those tiny vending packs of muffins, the ones with two little colorful things in plastic. They were awful. So bad we bet that even the ants wouldn't touch them if we left it out.

It's been three years now and that muffin is still there, identical to the day we set it down (not counting the dust).

Not saying they're wrong to do this, but this is exactly what's keeping Linux in the 1%.

Even if it's just a gesture, those people deserve more than they got.

Called the VA crisis line a while back, talked to a case worker and they told me they'd have someone pick me up. A little while later I get a knock on the door from a city cop with his holster unbuckled there to take me to the psych ward of our local shitty hospital.

Spent three days in what essentially was One Flew Over except my nurse Ratchet was a part time psychiatrist that didn't completely speak English, and was a total dick.

Ended up checking myself out because nothing was being accomplished there beside morning calisthenics. Later that week, I got a bill from the hospital for $1200, and the VA said they wouldn't cover it because I didn't call it in within 72 hours... Even though it was a VA rep that started the process, and it was related to a service-connected injury (PTSD).

This was over ten years ago, but it's comforting to know some things never change.

I've met two. Used to work with them on a ranch when I was a kid. Cool guys, wouldn't live in the same place for more than three months.

One of the dudes carried around a tiny TV with a built in VHS and a handful of movies. The other guy was just heading South, I think maybe going to Mexico.

When they decided to move on they just left, no goodbyes or heads up.. just gone one day.

You can get open box, unused steelcase chairs on eBay for cheaper than "gaming" chairs, BTW. There's no reason to buy those abominations.
