That sure is a good thing and we're going the right direction, sure, but globally we are still burning more fossil fuels than ever and also the effect fossil fuels have on the climate take 20 years to kick in (don't ask me for details IANA scientist), so now we're experiencing the damage we did until 2005 so yeah brace yourselves

Some wild stuff in there

[...] bringing the grand (known) total to 14. However, according to a new report, there could be more, as the unhinged oligarch has reportedly been known to send his semen to women he doesn’t even know.

[...] Musk has a habit of reaching out to female X users “through direct messages, some of whom he eventually solicits to have his babies, according to people who have viewed the messages.” At least one of those lucky ladies is crypto influencer Tiffany Fong, whom Musk followed on X last year. Sources told the newspaper that the billionaire had sent her a DM last November “asking if she was interested in having his child.” Wong apparently declined the offer.

During St. Clair’s pregnancy, Musk suggested that they bring in other women to have even more of their children faster. “To reach legion-level before the apocalypse,” he said to St. Clair in a text message viewed by The Wall Street Journal, “we will need to use surrogates.” He has recruited potential mothers on his social-media platform X, according to some of the people.

The Journal article notes that Musk has attempted to get all the various members of his “harem” to congregate in a compound that he recently had built in Austin, Texas.

Imagine you kill a kid and you actually get the parents to show up for a photo-op so you can show the world they don't blame you and they just go along with all the lies you have been telling and everything goes fine really.

In February, Dr. Hall said that N.I.H. officials told him he couldn’t be listed as an author on a yet-to-be-published scientific review on ultraprocessed foods that he co-wrote with a group of university scientists. This was because the review included language about “health equity” (it acknowledged that some people in the United States don’t have access to healthy food). This discussion may not have aligned with President Trump’s views on diversity, equity and inclusion.

What was he censored about you ask? Must have been something really secret, otherwise it wouldn't have been such a big deal, right? Right?

I know, i have user tags enabled to track votes and there just a few other prolific posters who I gave as many upvotes as I gave her. When there is no further info in the post or when there is no archived link and I hit a paywall, I copy and paste part of the text or the archived url for when I return to lemmy and I leave it for the next one to find. Saves me time when I don't have to open a webpage, so this way I pay it forward.

Yea I think a lot of valuable traits can be taught, although you probably know more if you actually studied psychology. But unfortunately I think you are right destructive traits can also be learned. Retraining yourself more desirable traits is much harder than learning it when you're young. A 'good' society is a lot more than just a 'good' government.

But the traits that come with autism aren't just a matter of learning (not sure if you imply that), their brains are formed differently before birth already, just like how people are born with other traits (like being more/less athletic than average or more/less intelligent to name something).

The petition site change.org is extremely popular, but many are surprised to learn it is a for-profit corporation. It isn’t a charity, it exists to make money and has investors who expect a return.

Giving a profit-making corporation your real name as well as your opinions on a wide range of topics is not a wise idea in the long term. That sort of data is very valuable to advertisers, and sooner or later a company may be tempted to sell it to them.

Governmental Petition Portals

For political issues, you should petition governments directly on issues. This more easily gets the attention of people in power, is less likely to sell your data, and governments are often compelled by law to respond to petitions which receive enough signatures.

In some countries, popular petitions may trigger a parliamentary debate or even a referendum.

(The link op posts has a list with links to these Governmental Petition Portals, but not any other alternative.)
