If I can ask a noob question in this highly philosophical and technical thread— what’s your intended client experience for Beehaw? I’m using Voyager on iOS and will be sad to lose it if Beehaw migrates (or even doesn’t migrate to v19), though there may be a similar client for one of the other platforms under consideration.

Surely y’all aren’t all using a web front end, right? It seems there may be value in choosing a platform that has community support for clients as well as mod tools.

Can we say ‘risen’ rather than ‘fallen’ into public domain?

Mechanically encoded to paper tape, then electronically transmitted via undersea cable, then reversed on the other end for printing. Complex!

ICYMI (in case you missed it) and IYKYK (if you know, you know) which frequently get crossed in my head

It’s good for sure. Trader Joes’ wavy ramen is also made by A-sha and is a little cheaper.

Any packaged ramen can be improved with a soft steamed egg, a few greens, and a bit of chili oil though.

I’m new to the fediverse and chose to join Beehaw because the community interactions feel positive like an active private forum that I’m on, but with the structural flexibility of a federated platform.

There is definitely a tone change between local communities and the outside federated feed, but I worry that secession and isolation will lead to community atrophy— it’s already a small instance and without the cross-pollination of outside users and content it may not have enough momentum to succeed

I have a Sunbeam Radiant Control toaster from the 1960s. It’s an elegant, automatic design with only one control for the amount of toast. If it had slots wide enough for bagels it would be perfect.

The spirit of the original GW rules was to limit the sub to true amateur exhibitionists, so the community knew that anyone posting there was doing it for the fun of showing off. Allowing anyone who does it for money creates ambiguity if the post is for fun or advertising, and I feel that’s a negative.

I generally feel people who share good quality content and engage with communities are welcome, just not in gonewild or nofans which is by nature a seller-free space.
