I was removed for stating that synthetic taurine is a thing which is used in food all the time and that a whole food plant based diet would kill a cat. according to the admin this is promoting dangerous actions.

It's a book about non monogamy and how to practice it in a considerate and sensitive manner.

Oh yeah. The gas dissolves in the mucose around their eyes too, acidifying it like soda water.

Male chickens discarded from hatcheries are thrown live into a blender, "maceration", or gassed.

Don't ask about what happens to the male babies from dairy cow pregnancies for milk, or why veal is so tender.

There are... reasons why people go vegan despite all the vitriol we get thrown our way for daring to not be silent about this nightmare. Slaughterhouse workers get PTSD, even the people most ok with actually doing this shit have their minds recoil and fold in on themselves in the face of the sheer horror.

Having been a sysadmin you would be surprised at both the amount of times I had to explain why we couldn't just put an unprotected endpoint outside the firewall and also how much alcohol I drank to cope with the former.

It is like being builder to architects that think you can have a second story just floating in midair. I am baffled by how ignorant of the basics of infrastructure many developers are.

Obviously I don't expect a website dev to know the details of like iptables configs for load balancing with failover or whatever. Or even be terribly familiar with how to set up a production web server. I do expect people to know stuff like every computer on the internet is under constant attack from scripts. Or that taking advantage of peoples' trust and leaking their data is bad actually.

Netflix Buddy, friend, matey. If I have to pop open Google to find where I can watch something, find the best offers on pricing, and how to circumvent ads or whatever, or how to get Netflix to run on my devices without installing invasive crap or derooting my phone etc, and it's actually quite expensive.

I'll just do one search and not worry about whether I'll have to fight ads, or automatic iffy quality settings, weird compression algorithms, device compatibility etc.

I was happy to hang up the peg leg when I could just VPN to usa and watch everything for the price of a lunch a month. I like simplicity, I enjoyed your more arty shows. It was you who changed the deal Netflix, not I. you decided being insanely profitable wasn't enough and you needed infinite growth.

It's also just not how MRIs work. The magnet is on before the patient is in the room. They would be injured before the scan. The fda incident is likely heating due to eddy currents in non magnetic metal which is more in line with the injuries people sustain with their rings and shit when not removed. Like why induction stove has magnetic interlocks else wedding ring cuts finger off

Yes, except don't do this.

The reaction is

NaHCO~3~ + CH~3~COOH -> Na^+^ + CH3COO^-^ + + H~2~O + CO~2~

If you know how to read those. Sure the CO2 is the same if you let the vessel pressurise but that sodium ion and ethanoate isn't! Sodium salts taste well very salty. It'll ruin the lemonade

edit: oh also if climate. If you burn a tonne of coal that's 3 tonnes of CO2 in what I like to call "nature's fume hood" (don't worry I'm sure it's consequence free). We currently burn about 15 billion tonnes of coal alone per year. When I carbonate a litre of water around 5 grams dissolves I think? so if we have every single person on earth a litre of fizzy water each day we would emit 120 million tonnes of co2 a year. Which is 1% of coal alone, which is less than half our emissions of CO2 for power alone, and co2 isn't the only factor in warming.

So even in the absolutely insane case of a planet of fizzy water addicts where even babies are chugging the stuff it wouldn't matter at all.

I'm constantly surprised at the general public's ignorance of the conditions of farming and simultaneous confidence that vegans are extremist loons.
