It's definitely these two things plus our ability to digest meat as well as plant matter, plus our communication and social skills plus...

That's a bit concerning. Leave alone the bad practices of multiple single points of failure (single server, single developer, singler person with access to code), the abrupt silence from the developer Harriette looks very concerning. Hopefully we hear back from her soon enough.

That's exactly my point. All this 'widespread backlash' doesn't amount to anything unless it hurts their bottom line. There was a huge backlash when netflix introduced password sharing crackdown, but it ended up a success for them.

Be grateful it didn't turn out to be an Eldritch horror with six and a half feet instead of just two long ones

Python V2/V3??? How old is this thing? Not even Debian comes with Python 2 these days.

Work From Home was a big cultural change for the country, and we all see how that went (even after initially lauding it). I'm not holding my breath on this. Anything that reduces stress on the employees would never get commonplace, because stress is how they keep the workers in check.

I've felt like the Daniel Craig James Bond movies alternate being good and bad. I loved Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace was bad (worst in the series for me), then Skyfall was great, Spectre was meh. Thankfully, No Time to Die followed the pattern and ended up being great.

Casino Royale is still my favorite, but NTtD is a close second.

I think this bot should stop crossposting stuff from Reddit until the community here picks up. This is only adding unnecessary clutter to the community and even if one post gets replies, it’s going to get drowned out by these automatic bot posts.

Fwiw, I’ve been able to get good advice on a few things already. I had a geologist here give me details on a rock I found at the beach, for instance.

Even 1080p is failing. Got 480p to upload. Lemmy.world has no problem uploading full size images from iphone.

New to obsidian. I have installed tasks, and have created a page called widgets/personal.md with the following query:

''''tasks
(not done)
tags include #tasks/personal
hide backlink
''''

In preview mode, this shows me the list of personal tasks. So far so good. I want to show the contents of this page as an ios widget. I found some tutorials to use widgy and make a widget that shows a page content. When I do that, instead of seeing the output, I'm seeing the above query in the widget. I know that's because that's what is in the file itself.

My question is, is there a way to automatically save the output to a file, or is there a different/better way to create task widgets for different tags?
